The pro-life group Center for Medical Progress (CMP) is releasing a video on the first anniversary of its undercover exposé unmasking Planned Parenthood’s abortion business. The series of videos last summer also exposed Planned Parenthood’s apparent practices of selling the body parts of babies it aborts on the open market and altering the position of babies during abortions in order to harvest their most intact organs. The story of the abortion giant’s alleged practices and those of biomedical procurement company StemExpress went viral last summer with the American public, leading to congressional investigations into Planned Parenthood and the entire abortion industry. The CMP video series changed the national debate about abortion by featuring discussions and negotiations with high-level Planned Parenthood medical directors and executives, who eat lunch and drink wine while haggling over prices for fetal organs. “As more details and evidence continue to emerge in the … [Read more...] about Planned Parenthood ‘Baby Parts’ Exposé Changes Abortion Debate

Polyurethane can go a long way in ending plastic menace, says AMCA representative
The use of plastics has permeated almost all areas of our daily life, for the past several decades. The convenience of carrying articles of daily use in the plastic carry bag, which fits in one’s pocket and the low price, have made plastic carry bags ubiquitous. The inventors of plastic had received the Nobel Prize for their invention after World War II. But, now the world has realised that the earth can no longer take the load of plastics, as they do not decay and remain for thousands of years. Single-use plastics have been banned but it is very difficult for consumers to totally kick their habit, of using plastic carry bags, overnight. Replacing synthetic plastic with degradable polyurethane will go a long way in ending the plastic menace, opines Sudhansu Shekhar Padhy, an Associate Director of Environment Technology Development at the Asian Marine Conservation Association (AMCA), Kolkata, and Director – Technical of Swagath Urethane Pvt. Putin’s Decade-Long Secret Sabotage Scheme Revealed
Russia’s recent gains on the battlefield can be attributed in part to a quiet, nearly decade-long sabotage campaign to block Ukraine from vital ammunition supplies, according to several reports. The tactics include bullying ammunition sellers not to deliver to Ukraine and secretly blowing up depots across Eastern Europe prior to this spring’s invasion, The Washington Post reports , citing Ukraine Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar. Russia and Ukraine use the same artillery, thanks to their common military hardware that dates back to the Soviet era. It’s a specific type of of ammo, mostly consisting of 122mm and 152mm caliber rounds, which are no longer common in modern warfare. The Post found that Russia has for years been making sure Ukraine is not only in short supply, but experiencing difficulty resupplying. “Even if everyone gives us this ammunition, it will still not be enough,” Malyar told the paper. Russia pops off around 60,000 rounds a day, which is tenfold … [Read more...] about Putin’s Decade-Long Secret Sabotage Scheme Revealed
Woman looked “9 months pregnant” after mistaking ovarian cyst for baby
An English woman looked "nine months pregnant" due to an ovarian cyst she mistook for a baby as it grew to the size of a football inside of her stomach. Hollie Welham, 21, believed she was expecting after she started feeling nauseated and noticed her stomach growing in January. But when all the tests came back negative, Welham was referred for an ultrasound as her symptoms continued to worsen, including severe cramps, bleeding, and back pain. Marchers in New York marked International Women's Day on Wednesday afternoon by chanting "Hey, hey, ho, ho, Donald Trump has got to go" while walking between two of the real estate mogul's signature properties. Some hoisted posters featuring coat hangers, a strong symbol for many women in the battle over abortion rights. Meanwhile, the most powerful millennial woman in the Trump inner circle tweeted her version of support. "Today, we celebrate women and are reminded of our collective voice and the powerful impact we have on our societies and economies," Ivanka Trump wrote. Two years on, national security law proves its worth in safer, more stable Hong Kong
After nearly two years of Hong Kong’s national security law, critics condemning it seem more anxious to have their worst fears vindicated than disproved. The city was said to be plunging headlong into a cauldron of tyranny. That has not happened, though. Instead, the status quo spanning business activity and civil institutions is better protected from disruptive strife than before. Protesters who rejected such legislation might be taking a vital civil order for granted. Democratic societies champion such laws for themselves to help preserve their democracy. In Washington, one morning’s mob violence at the Capitol Building has seen criminal prosecutions more than a year later. Legislators in the US Congress who expressed support for Hong Kong’s months-long protests are busily investigating their protesters while strengthening security on their own turf. What is the reality in Hong Kong since the promulgation of the security law? Peace and order have returned to the streets and … [Read more...] about Two years on, national security law proves its worth in safer, more stable Hong Kong
Bitcoin energy use suddenly drops after price collapse
Bitcoin ’s energy consumption has plummetted to levels not seen in over a year following the latest price collapse. Figures from Digiconomist, a site tracking bitcoin’s electricity use, show that the cryptocurrency saw its consumption drop by around a third within the space of a week in June. During that same time, bitcoin’s price fell from just above $30,000 to around $20,000, further compounding a months-long crash that began after hitting a new record high of close to $69,000 last November. Separate figures from the Cambridge Bitcoin Electricity Consumption Index estimate a 25 per cent decline in energy use, putting it on a par with levels seen last August. Bitcoin has faced severe criticism from climate activists and environmentalists for the amount of power that its network requires to operate.
