Brady Duke: ‘Biden’s Been Wrong on Every Major Foreign Policy’ Issue
Republican Brady Duke, a Christian minister and former Navy SEAL sniper, running in Florida’s Seventh Congressional District, told Breitbart News Saturday that President Joe “Biden’s been wrong on every major foreign policy and national security issue for nearly four decades,” including Afghanistan. As the country approaches the one-year anniversary of the United States pulling its resources out of Afghanistan, days after the terrorist attack claimed the lives of 13 services members while injuring several others, Duke declared that “Biden’s been wrong on every major foreign policy and national security issue for nearly four decades.” “We’ve seen this just blatant in the ‘Afghan retreat,'” Duke said. “I have an issue with calling it an ‘Afghan withdrawal’ because, simply put, if you can’t, if you’re standing on the battlefield with your enemy, and you turn your back and run, you’re retreating, you’re not withdrawing.” When discussing the lives lost over the years and seeing … [Read more...] about Brady Duke: ‘Biden’s Been Wrong on Every Major Foreign Policy’ Issue
Ex-US Army General, Brookings Institution Head Probed For Helping Qatar Influence US Foreign Policy
The FBI has seized the electronic data of a retired four-star general who authorities say made false statements and withheld “incriminating” documents about his role in an illegal foreign lobbying campaign on behalf of the wealthy Persian Gulf nation of Qatar. New federal court filings obtained Tuesday outlined a potential criminal case against former Marine Gen. John R. Allen, who led US and NATO forces in Afghanistan before being tapped in 2017 to lead the influential Brookings Institution think tank. It’s part of an expanding investigation that has ensnared Richard G. Olson, a former ambassador to the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan who pleaded guilty to federal charges last week, and Imaad Zuberi, a prolific political donor now serving a 12-year prison sentence on corruption charges. Several members of Congress have been interviewed as part of the investigation. The court filings detail Allen’s behind-the scenes efforts to help Qatar influence US policy in 2017 when a … [Read more...] about Ex-US Army General, Brookings Institution Head Probed For Helping Qatar Influence US Foreign Policy
DeSantis “in no rush” but Pence “strong” for 2024—Trump’s ex-campaign chief
Donald Trump 's former campaign manager recently said that he believes Florida Governor Ron DeSantis should hold off trying to become president until after 2024 while former Vice President Mike Pence would be considered a "strong" candidate should he choose to run. Paul Manafort, a key part of Trump's 2016 team who was jailed for tax and bank fraud charges , told Newsweek that while he considers both DeSantis and Pence potential future GOP candidates, neither of them would beat the former president should he choose to run in in 2024 as expected. "DeSantis is in no rush," Manafort said. "He's gonna get reelected, he's been doing a tremendous job as governor of Florida. His second term will end in 2026, and—if Trump is elected [in 2024]—he will have an open seat in 2028. "Pence has his own base he can build from and he's a strong candidate in many respects," Manafort added. "I don't know if he'd run against Trump. He would also be a prospective candidate for 2028. They're … [Read more...] about DeSantis “in no rush” but Pence “strong” for 2024—Trump’s ex-campaign chief
Trump beats Pence in Arizona as Kari Lake wins primary
Kari Lake, endorsed by former President Donald Trump , won Arizona's Republican gubernatorial primary on Thursday, dealing a blow to Vice President Mike Pence , who backed her opponent Karrin Taylor Robson. The primary in the battleground Sun Belt state became a proxy battle between Trump and Pence . Though Pence once served as Trump's second-in-command, their relations soured following the January 6, 2021, attack at the U.S. Capitol, when a mob of Trump supporters rioted in a failed attempt to force Congress to block the 2020 presidential election results based on unfounded claims of voter fraud. At the time, Trump urged Pence to join his efforts to overturn the presidential election results, but Pence refused to do so. The results and legitimacy of the election have become a divisive issue in the Republican Party—even though there is no substantial evidence that the election was stolen—as Trump attempts to hold his grip on power in the GOP. The issue became central to … [Read more...] about Trump beats Pence in Arizona as Kari Lake wins primary
What do the Conservatives want to do? All the Tory party policies Theresa May is promising in the 2017 general election manifesto
Theresa May unveiled the manifesto last month in the hopes of winning her 2017 general election . But unlike Jeremy Corbyn's 'For the many not the few', Theresa May's 'Forward Together' is hardly all sweetness and light. It does away with the Tories' failed pledge of a care cap, instead promising to raise the threshold at which people pay. Pensioners will be a less well-off as winter fuel payments are hugely restricted and the triple lock is ditched. There's the threat of new welfare cuts as the promise not to make any is downgraded to a pledge not to make them "radical". And seven-year-olds will lose their guaranteed free hot lunches as "lunch snatcher" Mrs May replaces them with breakfasts at a fraction of the cost. Mrs May today claimed "big, difficult decisions" are needed to keep the country on track as she launched the document in Halifax, West Yorkshire. Foreign firms achieve only 82% target in defence deal offsets
The total offset commitment by foreign defence companies to be fulfilled in India for various defence deals during the last 15 years, was $6.83 billion till August 01, 2022 of which they fulfilled offset claims worth 82.13% or about $5.61 billion, the Defence Ministry informed Parliament. Threat to foreign language high schools roils parents
Members of the so-called National Association of Foreign Language High School Parents gather in front of the National Assembly in western Seoul on Friday to urge the Yoon Suk-yeol administration not to abolish foreign language high schools. [NEWS1] The Ministry of Education has once again found itself in the crosshairs after suggesting that so-called foreign language high schools could be entirely scrapped. Foreign language high schools are private or public high schools that allot more of their curriculums to foreign language studies. They are normally granted more freedom in selecting students, developing courses and deciding how much they charge in tuition. They are a type of “special purpose high school” along with science high schools, sports high schools, arts high schools and international high schools, each of which specializes in a particular field, or a “special purpose.” There are about 30 foreign language high schools across the nation today. Foreign language high … [Read more...] about Threat to foreign language high schools roils parents
Pennsylvania Avoids a Disastrous Green New Deal Policy—For Now | Opinion
Pennsylvanians are, for the moment, protected from high costs of a "Green New Deal" initiative being pushed by Governor Tom Wolf via executive order. Earlier this month, the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court issued an injunction against further implementation of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI). RGGI would cause Pennsylvania to join other mid-Atlantic and New England states to "to cap and reduce power sector CO2 emissions." These states strictly limit carbon emissions from electricity producers by forcing them to pay for "credits." This is a tax in everything but name. By Pennsylvania state law, only the legislature—not the governor—can pass taxes. Joining the initiative via executive order is flatly unconstitutional in our state. The governor is no stranger to executive overreach. Last year voters agreed to amend the state constitution to rein in Wolf's emergency powers related to COVID. Here he goes again. But Wolf is a lame duck, and RGGI's ultimate fate may not be … [Read more...] about Pennsylvania Avoids a Disastrous Green New Deal Policy—For Now | Opinion
