VOTING in the US midterm elections is now underway after weeks of heavy campaigning. Here is what you need to know about how the election is going — and the impact it could have. Voters will decide 35 of the 100 seats in the US Senate – the 33 in Senate Class 1, plus two special elections. This year, Americans are heading back to the polls for congressional midterm elections in November and government officials are already warning of foreign hackers. While election security has advanced since 2016, Congress recently allocated $380 million to bolster states' defenses, hackers are also improving. On November 6, Americans will head to the polls to vote in the congressional midterm elections. In the months before the contest, hordes of foreign hackers will head to their keyboards in a bid to influence its outcome.
