The “parabellum” in the title of John Wick: Chapter 3 comes from the Latin Si vis pacem, para bellum — translation: If you desire peace, prepare for war , a line spoken by one of the movie’s great character actors. As effective as that line is, though, my favorite is a much simpler one that comes from our hero, John Wick (Keanu Reeves), when he’s asked, “What do you need?” His answer? “Guns. Lots of guns.” Oh. The man suspected of stabbing Salman Rushdie while on a lecture stage in upstate New York was arrested on a felony charge of second-degree attempted murder for the attack on the acclaimed novelist as well as second-degree assault for an injury to the event's moderator, state police said Saturday. The suspect — identified as Hadi Matar, 24, of Fairview, New Jersey — was being held without bail in the Chautauqua County Jail and was expected to be arraigned later Saturday, Chautauqua County District Attorney Jason Schmidt said. Local prosecutors say they are in touch with law enforcement counterparts in New Jersey, "to better understand the planning and preparation which preceded the attack" and to determine if further charges are warranted. Over the last several months, I tested the Hisense HRF266N6CSE refrigerator, which retailed for $1,599. I put this through the paces at home with two teens and a busy kitchen and fell in love with its interior water dispenser, innovative storage and modern style. Since that time, this model number was recalled due to loosening door hinges. The issue has been remedied, and the model name updated to HRF266N6CSE1 (also $1,599). Otherwise these refrigerators are identical. The Hisense offers a lot of storage inside. Yet it doesn't take up as much space as our previous refrigerator, thanks to its integrated door handles.
