But Renzi also made sure to compliment the First Lady's speeches - and her tomato-growing skills. "Michelle, I know that your tomatoes are good," Renzi said at the dinner. "But after hearing your speech allow me to be frank: Your speeches are better than your tomatoes." "It's necessary that the person who lives with you has a role," said Emmanuel Macron in the run up to his election win. "I hope that a role can be defined and I will ask for some work to be done on this," said the France's new president. Macron was talking about his wife Brigitte - who has been ever-present at his side - and the official status or role he intends her to have as France's premiere dame. The title "first lady" is used in France more and more but in reality the role of 'premier dame' does not currently exist in the French constitution and there is no legal status for it. BOSTON — Former first lady Michelle Obama is in Boston to address a forum devoted to empowering women to become leaders in their fields. Obama is scheduled to participate in a moderated conversation at Thursday's closing session of the 39th annual Simmons Leadership Conference. The event is the longest-running women's leadership event in the U.S. Organizers say they invited Obama because she's "a passionate and tireless champion of women, families and young people." Other participants include news anchor and women's rights advocate Gretchen Carlson and former CIA operative and author Valerie Plame. This year's conference is being held at Boston's Seaport World Trade Center with the theme "Disrupt the Ordinary." More than 3,400 people have registered for the event.
