THERE are “grave concerns” that cadavers featured in an Australian exhibition are from Chinese political prisoners who were tortured and murdered. More than 20 bodies and over 200 anatomical specimens were preserved for "Real Bodies", an exhibition in Sydney which gives visitors a special insight into how human bodies function. But there are “grave concerns that the bodies were not freely and willingly donated”, according to Sophia Bryskine, a spokeswoman for Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting (DAFOH). She said: "The origins of these bodies have been questioned, and they are believed to come from China - either death row prisoners, or tortured prisoners of conscience. "Falun Gong practitioners have been singled out as the most likely victims.” Thousands of people in the 1990s were imprisoned in some of China’s worst jails for practising Falun Gong, a Buddhist-style religion. WASHINGTON/AMMAN, April 9 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday condemned a suspected chemical weapons attack on a rebel-held town in Syria that killed dozens of people and said he would make a decision on a response, probably by the end of the day.Speaking at a Cabinet meeting, Trump said he was talking to military leaders and would decide who was responsible for the attack -- whether it was Russia, or Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's government, or Iran, or all of them together.International bodies led by the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) were trying to establish exactly what happened on Saturday in Douma, a besieged town in eastern Ghouta near Damascus. The Syrian government and its ally Russia have denied involvement in the attack.U.S. government sources said on Monday the administration had not yet conclusively determined whether the attack was carried out by Assad's forces. DONALD Trump labelled Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad an "animal" following a suspected nerve agent attack in Syria which left at least 70 dead. Patients showed signs of "respiratory distress, central cyanosis, excessive oral foaming, corneal burns, and the emission of chlorine-like odour", they said. Medics had "observed bradycardia, wheezing and coarse bronchial sounds". The statement added civil defence volunteers found 42 casualties dead in their homes "with similar clinical symptoms of excessive oral foaming, … [Read more...] about Syria chemical attacks 2018 – what happened in Douma and what did Donald Trump and Russia say about it?
A 63-YEAR-OLD grandmother has been jailed for 20 years after she locked her adopted granddaughter in a room with no food or water and left her to die. Sabrina May, 16, was a victim of extreme abuse allegedly at the hands of members of her foster family before she starved to death in her grandmother’s home in Iowa. On the morning of her death she was vomiting and soiled herself, but rather than intervening or calling for medical help, Carla Bousman locked her in a room. She died on May 12 from malnutrition, weighing just four stone. Bousman pleaded guilty to neglect and cried as she was sentenced to 20 years in prison on Friday. The court said if she had intervened on the morning of the girl’s death she could have survived. Bousman said: “She had woke up vomiting and had soiled herself and her clothes and I just thought that she wasn’t feeling well and I gave her a shower and cleaned her all up. “I wish I could go back to that day and change everything … [Read more...] about Emaciated girl, 16, locked in room to DIE by grandmother after ‘campaign of abuse’
