KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia must come up with a more orderly system or coordination in managing traffic congestion to reduce the level of stress currently experienced by motorists. Malaysian Psychiatric Association president Dr Hazli Zakaria said this coordination included finding an appropriate time for roadblocks and maintenance works. He said in efforts to improve the country’s existing management of the matter, Malaysia could emulate Singapore’s efficient system in creating a conducive driving experience for its people. Covid-19: Over a million kids in Malaysia fully vaccinated
KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 1,131,326 or 31.9 per cent of children aged five to 11 in the country have been fully vaccinated under the Covid-19 National Immunisation Programme for Children (PICKids) as of Tuesday (May 24). According to the CovidNow website, a total of 1,683,567 children or 47.5 per cent of the group have received at least one dose of vaccine. The deadline for children to get their first dose of Covid-19 vaccine under PICKids is May 31. For adolescents aged 12 to 17 years, a total of 2,910,553 or 93.5 percent are fully vacinated while 3,007,101 or 96.6 percent of the same group have received at least one dose of vaccine. Meanwhile, a total of 16,084,603 or 68.4 per cent of adults have received a booster dose while 22,973,173 or 97.6 per cent have completed two doses and 23,249,459 or 98.8 per cent had received at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine. AirAsia Announces $30 Billion Deal for 100 Airbus Planes
Sepang(Malaysia): Malaysian budget airline AirAsia on Thursday announced an additional order of 34 Airbus A330neo planes, bringing the total value of its expanded 100-plane order to $30 billion as it sets its sights on European routes. The first delivery of the jets will arrive towards the end of 2019 and will allow the airline to take on longer non-stop routes to Europe, AirAsia boss Tony Fernandes said at a media event. These will be used by its long-haul arm, AirAsia X, replacing its older first-generation A330s. "We can now start the London route... This plane allows us to fly to Brazil, Namibia and anywhere we want," he said. The Kuala Lumpur-London route was dropped in 2012 due to low demand and high fuel prices. His counsel, Hamidi Mohd Noh when contacted said his client will be the first witness to take the stand when the defence trial begins at 9am before High Court Judge Collin Lawrence Sequerah.
