Former Trump Aide: Robert Stone ‘Likely’ to Be Indicted

· May 20, 2018 ·

Former Trump campaign adviser Sam Nunberg said Sunday it's "most likely" political operative and President Donald Trump ally Roger Stone will be indicted by special counsel Robert Mueller. In remarks to MSNBC's Alex Witt, Nunberg dismissed the significance of any legal action against the man he said he considers his mentor. "I think Roger is most likely — and he's prepared for this and he should be — is going to get indicted, on some financial, I'd say picayune matter," Nunberg said. "Mueller is treating all Trump associates as if they are the Mafia," Nunberg added. "And he is very selective about that." Earlier Sunday, Stone told NBC's "Meet The Press" that he's prepared for an indictment should it be handed up by Mueller's investigators. "He will get indicted on some stupid financial thing. He will eventually, I believe, will beat it because that's Andrew Weissmann's track record," Nunberg said, referring to the lawyer on the special counsel's investigative team who's … [Read more...] about Former Trump Aide: Robert Stone ‘Likely’ to Be Indicted

Rosetta Stone v. Google: No Easy Exit for Google from AdWords Trademark Suits

· April 30, 2012 ·

Rosetta Stone, Inc., which provides technology-based language learning products and services, sued Google in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia for direct and indirect trademark infringement and trademark dilution arising out of Google’s sale of Rosetta Stone’s trademarks as keywords in Google’s AdWords program. Google triumphed in the trial court, with the District Court granting summary judgment in favor of Google on all claims. Earlier this month, however, in Rosetta Stone, Inc. v. Google, Inc.,[1] the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit reversed the ruling and remanded the case for further proceedings on all trademark claims. For Google, the ruling means that it has no easy way to exit any trademark case arising out of its AdWords program. For brand owners, the ruling provides a road map for how to hold e-commerce web sites (Google, eBay) responsible for counterfeiters who advertise on the web site. The primary issue in Rosetta … [Read more...] about Rosetta Stone v. Far-right figures sue Caputo, saying he served as Stone’s mouthpiece

· April 18, 2019 ·

WASHINGTON – A new lawsuit accuses East Aurora political consultant Michael R. Caputo of serving as a public mouthpiece for indicted Republican trickster Roger Stone, who is under a federal gag order barring him from discussing the criminal case against him. In an unusual courtroom clash of far-right figures, conspiracy theorist Jerome Corsi and Freedom Watch founder Larry Klayman sued Caputo and Stone in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia earlier this month, accusing Caputo of defamation. It's all because of what Caputo had to say on MSNBC last month about special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation of Russian meddling in the 2016 election. There, Caputo speculated that Corsi will testify against Stone at his upcoming trial on charges that Stone tried to get and share emails from WikiLeaks that would damage Democrat Hillary Clinton's campaign. "The Mueller team finds himself at the end of the hallway at the end of this entire game and they're staring at Jerry … [Read more...] about Far-right figures sue Caputo, saying he served as Stone’s mouthpiece

Gloria Allred Sees a Method to Lindsay Lohan’s Courtroom Attire Madness

· March 16, 2011 ·

Lindsay Lohan’s courtroom fashion choices may not impress the judge considering charges of necklace theft against her, but it does serve another purpose, according to celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred.“Rather than focusing on exactly why she’s in court, people talk up what she’s wearing,” Allred told the New York Times. “How she looks becomes the lead in the story; much farther down are the legal consequences of what she is facing because of her conduct.”The Times describes Lohan’s courtroom outfits as “a succession of cleavage-baring shirts and clingy frocks” and includes pictures in a slide show entitled “Perp Walk or Catwalk?”In March, Lohan sported a $725 tan leather dress and mock croc pumps, the newspaper notes. “But her look was demure,” the story says, “compared with the curve-clutching, thigh-high dress she wore to court in February, a white sheath so steamy it raised questions as to whether … [Read more...] about Gloria Allred Sees a Method to Lindsay Lohan’s Courtroom Attire Madness

Spicer harbored doubts about taking press secretary’s job

· July 19, 2018 ·

close Video Kurtz: Why being Trump's spokesman is a no-win proposition 'MediaBuzz' host Howard Kurtz weighs in on the difficulties that faced Trump's first press secretary Sean Spicer and how they continue to plague Sarah Sanders. Note: Catch my interview with Sean Spicer on Sunday's "MediaBuzz" "Sean, we're getting killed in the media." With those words, President Trump told his press secretary that while it wasn't his fault, "we need to change some things." And the change agent was to be Anthony Scaramucci. Sean Spicer's immediate reaction was that bringing him in to run the communications office, with so little experience, "was like asking a student pilot with one lesson to take the stick of an F-22 in mid-flight." That moment in a small dining room of the Oval Office would end Spicer's tumultuous six-month tenure, which he recounts in a new book, "The Briefing: Politics, The Press and The President." Hours later, after consulting his wife and mother, Spicer handed … [Read more...] about Spicer harbored doubts about taking press secretary’s job
