THE Met Office has found Brits are a bit foggy when it comes to getting their heads around weather forecasts. Research by the national weather service found we can struggle to identify even common weather symbols and are often misreading weather maps while preparing for the day ahead. Here are some of the most common mistakes. Overcast A filled-in grey cloud on a weather map of Britain can be a depressingly common site - but many people don't know exactly what it means. A huge 81 per cent of people wrongly thought the grey cloud symbol meant there would be rain that day. More than 60 per cent thought it meant it would be cloudy but didn't know why the symbol differed to the white cloud symbol which would normally denote cloudy conditions. Just 28 per cent of people correctly identified the symbol as meaning it would be an overcast day. Overcast is different to a cloudy day and is defined as conditions where clouds obscure at least 95 per cent of the sky.
