Author Salman Rushdie who was stabbed at a literary event in New York was on a ventilator and could lose an eye, his agent said on Saturday. The 75-year-old who won the Booker Prize for his novel “Midnight’s Children”, was stabbed in the neck and torso by a man on stage on Friday and had to be airlifted to hospital for emergency surgery 33 years after an Iranian fatwa ordered his killing for his controversial novel “The Satanic Verses”. In a heartwarming incident, an American YouTuber, Arieh Smith, was offered free food at a Gujarati eatery as he placed the order in Gujarati. In the video, Smith who runs the popular YouTube channel Xiaomanyc, is seen visiting a Gujarati restaurant and surprising its Indian owner by asking for a Gujarati meal. Hearing Smith speak Gujarati, the owner fills up with joy and greets the YouTuber with a smile. In the challenge, Matt ate chicken tenders ranging in terms of the spiciness they have. The first level is the one with no spice and the last one has its spice level at 2 million Scoville. In between are considerably spicy tenders with Scoville Heat Units ranging from 300,000 to 600,000. Scoville or Scoville Heat Units is a form of measure for the spiciness. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram temple, which he called India’s victory against invaders and a symbol of the country’s unity. The construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in August 2020, after a landmark verdict by the Supreme Court that settled the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute. Wednesday’s “shila pujan” marked the beginning of the next phase of construction that of the main temple — now that a base for it has already been built. Anne Heche remains on life support despite being 'legally dead' to see if she is a potential match for organ donation, her representatives have confirmed. The actress is classified as "legally dead according to California law" after suffering a "severe anoxic brain injury" in a car crash last Friday. The 53-year-old was taken to hospital following the crash but has since been found to be "brain dead". "While Anne is legally dead according to California law, her heart is still beating, and she has not been taken off life support so that One Legacy (a national organ recovery organisation) can see if she is a match for organ donation," a representative for Anne told the PA news agency.
