Anti-vaccination Legislation Advocate Hospitalized With Chickenpox

· March 19, 2019 ·

World A leading anti-vaccination legislation figure and member of Italy’s far-right Northern League party has been admitted to hospital to be treated for Chickenpox. Massimiliano Fedriga, who is the president of Italy’s northeastern Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, announced his hospital stay on social media, according to La Vanguardia. Fedriga has previously argued against Italy’s Lorenzin decree—named after Beatrice Lorenzi, the minister of health who oversaw the policy. The 2017 legislation made vaccination for 10 diseases—including polio and measles—compulsory for all children before they would be allowed to attend school. He admitted he had vaccinated his own children but says such measures should not be forced on other people. The politician is now at home recovering and thanked all those who had sent him messages of support and well wishes, La Vanguardia reported. · July 10, 2018 ·

close Video Republican Party split over paid family leave New York launches the benefit. I’m a bereaved mother from a deep red state who is a proud conservative and advocate for paid family leave. I came to this place in life after my infant son, Shepard, died in his sleep at a state-licensed day care facility in Oklahoma when he was just 11 weeks old. Unfortunately, the manner of Shepard’s death happens too frequently in America. A U.S. Senate subcommittee will examine the importance of paid family leave for American working families at a hearing Wednesday. This will be the first time paid family leave has been granted a congressional hearing in the history of the United States. American families have a long list of problems that they encounter that no other parents in any other developed country face, including the absence of a federal policy requiring paid parental leave policy. The Department of Labor recently found that one of out every four American … [Read more...] about My baby boy is dead – I’m a proud conservative and I believe we need paid family leave to prevent more deaths

· July 24, 2018 ·

TEENAGE boys aged 12 to 13 will be given a jab that protects against the HPV virus, the Government confirmed today. The vaccine that protects against cervical and penile cancer will be given to boys as part of a £20million scheme to protect all genders against the STI, public health minister Steve Brine announced. It follows a recommendation from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI), which said last week that a "gender-neutral" programme to protect against the sexually transmitted infection would be "cost-effective". "The HPV vaccine for girls is already expected to save hundreds of lives every year and I am delighted that we will now be protecting even more people from this devastating disease by extending the vaccine to boys," Mr Brine said. "Any vaccination programme must be firmly grounded in evidence to ensure that we can get the best outcomes for patients, but as a father to a son, I understand the relief that this will bring to parents.
