Justice Thomas Assures Parkland Survivor 2nd Amendment Stands

· April 4, 2018 ·

A survivor of the Parkland, Florida, mass shooting — and conservative gun rights advocate — says Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas assured him the Second Amendment "won't be touched." Sixteen-year-old Kyle Kashuv tweeted the jurist's vow beneath a picture of himself with Thomas on Thursday night. An honor discussing #2A and the Constitution with Justice Clarence Thomas. He told me about some of the cases he dissented on and how #2A won't be touched. pic.twitter.com/8Eyx7YE0zT — Kyle Kashuv (@KyleKashuv) April 5, 2018 The remarks come in the wake of a March op-ed in The New York Times by former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens calling for the repeal of the Second Amendment. "[T]he demonstrators should seek more effective and more lasting reform," he wrote. "They should demand a repeal of the Second Amendment." Kashuv, a junior at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, does not believe gun control is the best way to end school violence, and … [Read more...] about Justice Thomas Assures Parkland Survivor 2nd Amendment Stands

Recruiting: Three takes on the commitment of running back Thomas Grayson

· April 8, 2018 ·

Nebraska received a commit Monday evening from Tulsa (Oklahoma) Booker T. Washington running back Thomas Grayson. Three takes on the decision: >> NU wants speed and Grayson's got it. He can run the 100 meters in 10.7 seconds — and perhaps faster. That's what Nebraska wants in a skill player — receiver or running back. Grayson is the kind of player who can run around defenders and help the Huskers' offense utilize the entire width of the field.  >>The Huskers beat the in-state schools to the punch. Nebraska landed Grayson — who missed his sophomore season because of a broken ankle — before Oklahoma and Oklahoma State offered him. That's smart on NU's part, because Grayson, once he puts his second year on tape, will attract those top offers. Nebraska landed Grayson as a high two-star/low three-star, and he may end up better than that. >>Always good to win a recruiting battle in Oklahoma. The Huskers nabbing a skill player inside … [Read more...] about Recruiting: Three takes on the commitment of running back Thomas Grayson
