World experts gather in Vietnam for East Sea issues following recent tensions

More than 80 representatives from 27 members and organizations of the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) have discussed maritime security in the East Sea (internationally known as the South China Sea) following the region’s escalating tensions caused by claimants China and the Philippines.  International experts at the event in Danang. International support important to Vietnam’s development

International support is of great importance to Vietnam’s national liberation struggle and development. ​PMs of Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam pledge more extensive regional cooperation

The prime ministers of Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam decided to broaden the physical scope of their countries’ cooperation and agreed on steps taken to reach the goal during an international meeting hosted by Vietnam on Saturday. The leaders joined the 10th Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam Summit on Development Triangle Area, otherwise known as CLV-10, in Hanoi along with representatives from the World Bank and Asian Development Bank. The meeting reached a conclusion to elevate the collaboration which has been limited to 13 border provinces of Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam to a scale that covers the trio in its entirety. Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said the leaders had formulated a general connective plan to achieve the target by 2030. ​Hanoi, Beijing join hands to preserve peace, stability in East Vietnam Sea

Vietnamese Party chief Nguyen Phu Trong and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi vowed to make efforts to preserve peace and stability in the East Vietnam Sea during their talks in Hanoi on Monday. The meeting took place within the framework of Wang’s official visit to Vietnam and attendance at the 6th Greater Mekong Sub-region Summit (GMS-6) from March 30 to April 3, according to the Vietnam News Agency. General Secretary Trong congratulated China on the successful organization of the 2018 sessions of the National People’s Congress and election of state and government leaders for the new tenure. He extended his congratulations to Wang on his appointment as state councilor and foreign minister of China.
