Julie Hinds Detroit Free Press Published 12:07 PM EST Nov 20, 2018 This is Thanksgiving week in 2018 America, which means: a) Family gatherings evoke thankfulness and heated arguments about politics; b) Black Friday gift shopping is a way to express love and a crucial factor for retail sector performance; or c) Holiday movies are a cherished tradition and a box-office battle for total domination. All of the above, of course. But at least Hollywood's seasonal fight for profits and status (think Oscar gold) means this is a great couple of months for moviegoers. Here are seven film face-offs — by themes instead of release dates — that could make you the holiday winner, no matter what you choose. Action heroes "Aquaman": Talk about the shape of water.
