North Korea’s daily fever cases dropped to below 100,000 for the first time, state media said on Saturday, less than three weeks after the country’s first acknowledgement of a COVID-19 outbreak. The isolated country has been in a heated battle against an unprecedented COVID wave since declaring a state of emergency and imposing a nationwide lockdown this month, fuelling concerns about lack of vaccines, medical supplies and food shortages. Some 88,520 more people showed fever symptoms as of Friday evening, compared with nearly 400,000 about 10 days ago, the official KCNA news agency said, citing data from the state emergency epidemic prevention headquarters. The total number of fever patients since April rose to 3.36 million among the 25 million population. KCNA did not report any additional death. As of Friday, the death toll stood at 69. North Korea has not confirmed the total number of people testing positive for the coronavirus, apparently lacking in testing supplies. … [Read more...] about North Korea Says New Fever Covid-19 Cases Under 100,000 as Virus Fight Heats Up

Court bans expert from alleging cover-up of COVID-19 Chinese lab origins
A scientist who accused a COVID-19 expert of hiding that the virus originated in a Chinese lab has been banned from spreading "fake news" after a legal challenge. Hamburg-based nanoscience specialist Professor Dr. Roland Wiesendanger alleged in an interview with German magazine Cicero , published in February of this year, that Professor Dr. Christian Drosten from Berlin's Charite Clinic was consciously refusing to tell people the truth about the origin of the COVID-19 virus. Wiesendanger further alleged there was evidence that a botched experiment at a Chinese lab was at the core of the pandemic. The court in Hamburg refused to make any ruling on this claim. Instead, judges ordered Wiesendanger to stop "deliberately spreading false information" about Drosten, the country's leading specialist, who he accused of a cover-up over whether the virus first emerged from a research lab in Wuhan, in central China. In February 2021, Wiesendanger, a nanoscience expert, released a … [Read more...] about Court bans expert from alleging cover-up of COVID-19 Chinese lab origins

UK Introduces ‘Yellow Card’ to Record Potential Side Effects of Vaccine as Britians Report Flatulence, Losing Teeth
COVID-19 vaccination seems to be a little disappointing for the British, who are claiming that it is making them lose teeth, develop flatulence and leaving them screaming, yawning or crying after the jab. The UK’s drug regulator, responsible for the safety of the Covid-19 vaccine, has reported bizarre side effects after Brits took AstraZeneca’s coronavirus vaccine. Officials have urged the public to report any health issues they have faced after the jabs resulting in a 65-page document of alleged side-effects. Teething, rare blood clots and crying have been reported to be some of the many odd side effects. Last week, 11 European nations halted the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccination driv e after a number of people developed blood clot on receiving the dose. Pfizer CEO Complains He Has Billions Of Vaccine Doses Sitting Around Because Nobody Wants Them
Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla lamented that his company has billions of unused COVID-19 vaccines sitting in warehouses during the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) annual meeting in Davos Wednesday. Bourla said Pfizer has billions of doses waiting for use in low-income countries that have already been paid for by rich countries during a sit-down with WEF executive chairman Klaus Schwab. Bourla said the vaccine doses aren’t being used because the population in much of the developing world isn’t educated enough to create demand for them, and the countries may not have the infrastructure for widespread deployment of them. “What we discovered through the pandemic was that supply was not enough to resolve the issues that these countries are having,” Bourla told Schwab. “Right now, for example, there are billions of doses of our vaccine, the vaccine that was used in Europe, in the U.S., it was offered to low-income countries for free.” “They can’t use them right now, because we discovered … [Read more...] about Pfizer CEO Complains He Has Billions Of Vaccine Doses Sitting Around Because Nobody Wants Them

North Korea Gives Chinese Vaccines, Dubbed ‘Immortal Potion of Love,’ to Soldiers
North Korea is pushing a coronavirus vaccination program for soldiers working on a Pyongyang construction project with a characteristically bizarre propaganda campaign that refers to the Chinese-made shots as an “immortal potion of love” and an affectionate gift from the “Highest Dignity,” a reverential name for dictator Kim Jong-un. Tens of thousands of North Korean soldiers have reportedly been assigned to work on a 50,000-unit housing project in the capital of Pyongyang. The project is supposed to be completed by the end of 2025, but progress was imperiled by North Korea’s first (admitted) outbreak of the Wuhan coronavirus. The solution, according to anonymous Pyongyang officials who spoke to Radio Free Asia (RFA), was to march the soldier-laborers into “field sanitation centers” and shoot them up with lamentably ineffective Chinese vaccines while loudspeakers blasted weird propaganda messages into their faces: “It was like it was a national political … [Read more...] about North Korea Gives Chinese Vaccines, Dubbed ‘Immortal Potion of Love,’ to Soldiers

Advertisement On Wednesday, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said the number of new cases has exploded , as have hospitalizations, and the surge has yet to peak.
