A man in New Jersey has spoken about his joy at discovering buried treasure on his property as he renovated his home, according to reports. Richard Gilson found buried treasure from the 1930s after he began digging a hole as part of his renovations on Friday at his home in Wildwood, according to a 3CBS Philly report. Speaking to 3CBS Philly, Gilson said he had been renovating his home for the last two years when he stumbled across the buried treasure in the form of rolled up $10 and $20 bills all with the same date on them, 1934. "Somebody went under there with a little shovel and buried that thing under there," Gilson said. "They were hiding that money from somebody for something. You'd be surprised. You think your digging someplace nobody's been and you find something that was there a long time ago." Gilson said he initially thought he was digging up roots before he realized what he had stumbled upon. The bills add up to $1,000, which Gilson estimates in 1934 was worth … [Read more...] about ‘Priceless’ Treasure Buried in 1934 Found During Home Renovation

Kissinger said today that “peace is at hand” in Indochina and that a final agreement on a cease‐fire and political arrangement could be reached in one more negotiating session with the North Vietnamese “lasting not more than three or four days.” The remaining details, he said, would not halt the rapid movement toward an end to the war. “We must remember that, having … [Read more...] about NEW TALK NEEDED
As Trump Rallies in Waco, His Followers Shore Up His 2024 Bid
WACO, Texas — In the last 28 months, former President Donald J. Trump has been voted out of the White House, impeached for his role in the Capitol riot and criticized for marching many of his fellow Republicans off an electoral cliff in the 2022 midterms with his drumbeat of election-fraud lies. He dined at home with a white supremacist in November. He called for the termination of the Constitution in December. He declared himself “ more angry ” than ever in January. He vowed to make retribution a hallmark of a second term in the White House in March. He has embraced the QAnon conspiracy theory movement, described President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia as a genius and used a gay joke to mock a fellow Republican. He has become the target of four criminal investigations, including one in New York that he warned might result in “ potential death & destruction .” Still, Mr. Trump remains a strong front-runner for the Republican Party’s 2024 presidential nomination. … [Read more...] about As Trump Rallies in Waco, His Followers Shore Up His 2024 Bid
You May Need That Procedure. But Do You Really Need an Escort?
Robert Lewinger is tired of being berated by his gastroenterologist because he’s overdue for a colonoscopy. He’s perfectly willing to have one. And he’s more than ready for cataract surgery on his second eye. The problem: Mr. Lewinger, 72, a retired lawyer who lives in Manhattan, can’t schedule either of these procedures, which involve anesthesia or sedation, unless he supplies the name and phone number of the person taking him home afterward. Otherwise, clinics and outpatient surgical centers refuse to make appointments. Mr. Lewinger is also willing to undergo Mohs surgery, as his dermatologist has recommended, for two small skin cancers on his face. But the surgeons associated with her practice also insist on medical escorts, even though most Mohs surgery is performed under local anesthesia and doesn’t require them. Transportation itself isn’t the difficulty; Mr. Lewinger could summon an Uber or a Lyft, call a car service or hail a cab. What he needs is “someone to escort me … [Read more...] about You May Need That Procedure. But Do You Really Need an Escort?
‘There’s nothing left’: Mississippi tornadoes kill 23
By EMILY WAGSTER PETTUS, MICHAEL GOLDBERG and ROGELIO SOLIS ROLLING FORK, Miss. (AP) — A powerful tornado cut a devastating path of at least 170 miles (274 kilometers) through parts of the Deep South on Friday night, killing at least 23 people in Mississippi and obliterating dozens of buildings as it stayed on the ground for more than an hour. The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency said in a Twitter post that search and rescue teams from local and state agencies were deployed to help victims impacted by the tornadoes. The agency confirmed early Saturday that 23 people had died, four were missing and dozens were injured. A few minutes later, the agency warned the casualty toll could go higher, tweeting: “Unfortunately, these numbers are expected to change.” Throughout Saturday morning, people walked around dazed and in shock as they broke through debris and fallen trees with chain saws, searching for survivors. Power lines were pinned under decades-old oaks, their roots … [Read more...] about ‘There’s nothing left’: Mississippi tornadoes kill 23
Britney Spears urges fans not to call police as she sparks concern with bizarre accent
Britney Spears bizarrely put on an Australian accent to plead with fans not to call the police if she goes silent on social media again. The superstar's home was visited by officers after people became worried for her welfare when the singer deleted her Instagram account last month. Following the takedown, deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff's Office received calls from alarmed fans and responded by calling at Britney's Calabasas home to see if she was in danger. She was perfectly fine - but was ticked off by those who called the cops on her. Britney posted a video showing off some dresses she received and adopted an Aussie accent. Britney Spears ‘warned’ by animal control after her dog escapes and ‘bites’ elderly man
Britney Spears has reportedly been given a warning by animal control after her dog escaped and allegedly bit an elderly man. The singer and her husband Sam Asghari's Doberman Porsha escaped from their California mansion earlier this week and was tracked down five miles from home. The dog was given to Spears by her husband with the promise that she will be trained to protect his wife from "any motherf****r with bad intentions". However, the dog got out of the couples' $7.4 million Thousand Oaks home on Thursday. Sources said the dog came across a cyclist in his 70s who was getting off his bike when the dog bit him. Britney has been given a 'warning' ( Image: Twitter) Sam gave Britney the dog ( Image: Instagram) It was then that a member of Spears' security team got a hold of the dog, TMZ reports. Leaked Speech Excerpts Show a Hillary Clinton at Ease With Wall Street
In lucrative paid speeches that Hillary Clinton delivered to elite financial firms but refused to disclose to the public, she displayed an easy comfort with titans of business, embraced unfettered international trade and praised a budget-balancing plan that would have required cuts to Social Security, according to documents posted online Friday by WikiLeaks. The tone and language of the excerpts clash with the fiery liberal approach she used later in her bitter primary battle with Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont and could have undermined her candidacy had they become public. Mrs. Clinton comes across less as a firebrand than as a technocrat at home with her powerful audience, willing to be critical of large financial institutions but more inclined to view them as partners in restoring the country’s economic health. In the excerpts from her paid speeches to financial institutions and corporate audiences, Mrs. Clinton said she dreamed of “open trade and open borders” throughout … [Read more...] about Leaked Speech Excerpts Show a Hillary Clinton at Ease With Wall Street

In a new book, Gary Sick, a Middle East expert and former Carter Administration official, presents what he describes as an exhaustive collection of evidence to bolster his assertion, now under heated debate in Congress and elsewhere, that senior officials of the Reagan campaign negotiated a secret agreement with Iran in 1980 to delay the release of the American hostages.
