Police release body-camera videos from Las Vegas shooting that killed 58 people in 2017

ABC News/LVMPD Las Vegas police released some video of law enforcement officers responding to the Las Vegas shooting that killed 58 people in 2017. The footage did not show what the first officer through the door saw because he didn't activate his body-worn camera. The Associated Press and other media outlets sued to obtain videos, 911 recordings, evidence logs, and interview reports related to the shooting. The police investigation into the shooting has not concluded. The videos from two officers were expected to show what police found entering a 32nd-floor hotel room where gunman Stephen Paddock unleashed a hail of gunfire into an outdoor concert last fall. TODAY marks the one year anniversary of the night 59 people were killed and more than 527 injured after a lone gunman opened fire in Las Vegas during a music festival. Shocking footage showed terrified revellers fleeing the country music festival held on the famous strip during the worst mass shooting in US history. Where is Mandalay Bay Hotel? The resort is in the heart of the famous strip in Las Vegas on the south boulevard. Mandalay Bay is a four-star hotel that features a shark reef and beach, as well as a casino and spa. It has also been the venue for many of boxing's biggest fights. Shooter Stephen Paddock opened fire from the 32nd floor of the hotel while a festival was taking place in Vegas. Police found at least 42 firearms in the 64-year-old's hotel room and believed he had been staying there since September 28. Las Vegas shooting survivors from California announce engagement

BUMP stocks have been thrust into the spotlight after it was revealed mass murderer Stephen Paddock used the device when he killed 59 people and injured 500 during the Las Vegas gun massacre. The controversial modifications were largely unheard of outside gun enthusiast circles until the mass shooting. Here's the lowdown... What is a bump stock? The devices, which sell for around £170, fit over the stock and grip of a semi-automatic rifle and allow the weapon to fire continuously - some 400 to 800 rounds in a single minute. Bump-fire stocks, also called bump-stocks and slide-fire adapters, allow semi-automatic rifles to fire at a high rate, similar to a machine gun. But they can be obtained without the extensive background checks required of automatic weapons. The device causes the gun to buck back and forth, repeatedly "bumping" the trigger against the shooter's finger.
