Prince William and Kate Middleton false break-up story spreads

May 18, 2022 by www.newsweek.com

Prince William and Kate Middleton have been hit by a fake break-up rumor picked up and spread by MSN.com. There is nothing to suggest the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are experiencing marital problems and they appeared happy together during a visit to Scotland on May 11. However, an article on French-language website Oh My Mag wrongly suggested Kate had walked out with the couple's three children, the website's publisher told Newsweek . MSN.com then ran a translation hosted on its own website, while a link to the story was posted to its 227,600 Twitter followers on May 17. Outlandish conspiracies about the British royal family appear in the world's media from time to time but what is notable about this example is the role MSN.com played in giving the story the potential to reach a mass audience in Britain and America. A spokesperson for Groupe Cerise, which owns Oh My Mag , told Newsweek : "This story is indeed false and has been published by accident. We are … [Read more...] about Prince William and Kate Middleton false break-up story spreads

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Bahamas show of intimacy captured in viral TikTok

May 17, 2022 by www.mirror.co.uk

Prince Willliam and Kate Middleton put on a rare public display of intimacy as they were filmed walking hand-in-hand on their troubled tour of the Caribbean . The royal couple looked thoroughly loved-up in the Bahamas in a recently-resurfaced video. It was an infrequent royal show of affection as they walked through their hotel together on their way to an engagement. William, 39, and Kate, 40, are usually reserved when it comes to their royal appearances, but the pair couldn't resist getting close during their stay in March. American Jimmy Rex shared a clip on TikTok , which has quickly gone viral. ‘This Is Us’ to end with a ‘meditative day,’ creator reveals

May 18, 2022 by www.sfchronicle.com

This is a carousel. Use Next and Previous buttons to navigate 4 LOS ANGELES (AP) — Jack and Rebecca. Randall, Kate and Kevin. Six seasons and a combined 23 actors playing the Pearson mom, dad and children over four jumbled decades of love, war and a fatefully malfunctioning slow cooker. Add to that the countless tears shed by devoted fans of “This Is Us” and the oft-cited box of tissues as a standard accessory. It all comes down to one last good cry as NBC’s time-traveling family drama airs its final episode at 9 p.m. EDT Tuesday. Creator Dan Fogelman, who’d planned the show’s finite run from the start, is comfortable with his decision to leave viewers wanting more —- unusual for TV, which has no qualms in milking a popular series for all it's worth and then some. “If we had done anything different, it would have happened because of the wrong reasons,” Fogelman said. “A lot of them are lovely reasons, because I enjoy these people so much … [Read more...] about ‘This Is Us’ to end with a ‘meditative day,’ creator reveals

Royal garden party at Buckingham Palace – who’s standing in for the Queen today?

May 18, 2022 by www.mirror.co.uk

The Queen surprised the nation when she made a shock appearance at Paddington Station this week to acknowledge the new Elizabeth Line named in her honour. The visit to officially open the new TfL line came as such a surprise due to the long list of events the Queen has been unable to attend in recent weeks, with episodic mobility issues cited as the reason for her absence. It is traditional for the Queen to host three garden parties a year at Buckingham Palace and one at Hollyrood House in Scotland. The traditional summer garden parties haven't been held for three years because of the pandemic. Who filled in for the Queen at the first Royal Garden Party? Anne, the Princess Royal, attended the first party of the summer on May 11 ( Image: PA) The first garden party back since the pandemic saw the Queen replaced by Prince Charles and Camilla. The Queen was absent from the event on Wednesday May 11, but fortunately her son and his wife were on hand to step … [Read more...] about Royal garden party at Buckingham Palace – who’s standing in for the Queen today?

Princess Diana’s tiara rarely seen since her death to go on jubilee display

May 18, 2022 by www.newsweek.com

Princess Diana's most treasured family jewel is to go on display in London ahead of Queen Elizabeth II 's Platinum Jubilee celebrations next month. The Spencer tiara, which Diana famously wore on her wedding day in 1981, is to be included in the exhibition of aristocratic tiaras at Sotheby's auction house marking the jubilee. The jewel has become synonymous with the princess being worn with many of her most iconic outfits throughout the 1980s and early 1990s. Composed entirely of diamonds on a silver and gold frame, the tiara was reportedly created in the 1930s by crown jewelers Garrard from a much older central element which was a family heirloom. Diana's father loaned her the tiara for her wedding and she retained the use of it throughout her marriage up until his death in 1992. The princess wore it on at least seven major royal occasions and posed for multiple official portraits wearing the piece. The Spencer family is one of Britain's oldest aristocratic families … [Read more...] about Princess Diana’s tiara rarely seen since her death to go on jubilee display

No Party for Tom Cruise’s Top Gun Maverick at Cannes Film Festival

May 16, 2022 by www.news18.com

Once upon a time, the Cannes Film Festival was better known for its big, big parties than, well, for its cinema. And they happened on the pristine beach by the Mediterranean Sea that overlooked the majestic hills in a distance. The parties also happened in swanky five-star restaurants, on boats out at sea. I still remember a gala bash that the Kingfisher “King of Good Times” gave on a remote island off Cannes, and we were all taken in boats. I shared one with actors Rakesh Roshan, son Hrithik Roshan and his then rumoured girlfriend, Mexican star, Barbara Mori (who acted alongside Hrithik in the 2010 Kites). The two “lovers” tried to look aloof and sat at a distance, pretending hard not to let journalists like me get a whiff of their romance. In my early years at Cannes in 1990s, many people came to the Croisette (Cannes’ beach front) to attend parties or gatecrash into them. A celebrated one used to be thrown by Variety. But then, one had to make a choice: you either attended … [Read more...] about No Party for Tom Cruise’s Top Gun Maverick at Cannes Film Festival

Zara Tindall has uncle Prince Charles to thank for her unique royal name

May 15, 2022 by www.mirror.co.uk

The Queen's oldest granddaughter Zara Tindall is celebrating a very special day today - her 41st birthday. When Princess Anne and then-husband Mark Phillips welcomed their baby daughter, royal fans around the world celebrated. The couple decided to name their bundle of joy Zara, which is far from a traditional royal name. And it seems the inspiration for her very un-royal name came from one of her much-loved relatives - her uncle Prince Charles . According to Hello !, Zara's birth was very sudden and she arrived very quickly, with Princess Anne once recalling: "The baby made a rather sudden and positive arrival." Zara Tindall with her uncle Prince Charles ( Image: PA) It was down to this sudden arrival that she explained that her older brother suggested the name Zara, which is a Greek name meaning as bright as the dawn. Despite being a granddaughter of the Queen and 21st in line to the throne, mum-of-three Zara, a former world champion equestrian, does … [Read more...] about Zara Tindall has uncle Prince Charles to thank for her unique royal name
