Prince Harry "didn't make any progress" on the race row with William and Charles during his recent trip to the UK for Prince Philip's funeral, according to reports. In the explosive interview with Oprah, Harry and Meghan made claims a member of the family had expressed 'concerns' about the colour of Archie's skin before he was born. Following the interview, Buckingham Palace said in a statement: “The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. "While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately." But Palace insiders have told the Sun "little was resolved about the race row" despite Harry's recent trip to the UK for the funeral. Brothers Prince Harry and William ( Image: EMPICS Entertainment) Sources claimed the Duke of Sussex did not "make any progress" regarding the allegations when he was back in the country. Amber Heard says Johnny Depp slammed her against a wall on their honeymoon on the Orient Express
Aquaman actress Amber Heard told jurors on Monday (May 16) that Johnny Depp slammed her against a wall and wrapped a shirt around her neck during their 2015 honeymoon on the Orient Express. Heard returned to the witness stand in Virginia where jurors are considering dueling defamation claims by the former spouses. The pair married in February 2015 and took their honeymoon on the Orient Express train in July of that year after Depp finished filming the fifth Pirates Of The Caribbean movie. Under questioning from her lawyers, Heard said the couple argued about whether Depp should drink during the trip. She said they had a loving relationship when Depp was sober but that he often turned violent when drinking or using drugs. In a sleeping car on the train, Heard said, Depp slapped her across the face and repeatedly slammed her body against a wall. He then took his shirt off and wrapped it around her neck, she told the jury. "That's how I woke up the next morning," Heard said. … [Read more...] about Amber Heard says Johnny Depp slammed her against a wall on their honeymoon on the Orient Express
GOP Cuts Deal to More than Double Importation of Foreign Workers
Republican Senators have reportedly cut a deal with the business lobby to more than double the annual importation of low-skilled foreign workers to the U.S. to take blue-collar American jobs. Every year, the U.S. companies are allowed to import 66,000 low-skilled H-2B foreign workers to take blue-collar, non-agricultural jobs. The H-2B visa program is used by businesses to bring in cheaper, foreign workers and has contributed to blue-collar Americans having their wages undercut. An exclusive report by the Washington Times reveals that Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC), Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Sen. Mike Rounds (R-SC), and Rep. Andy Harris (R-MD) have made a deal with the business lobby to import more than double the amount of foreign workers on the wage-cutting H-2B visa to ensure that business has readily cheap labor available instead of having to recruit Americans for the blue-collar jobs. The Republican lawmakers negotiated the deal with the H-2B Workforce Coalition and the … [Read more...] about GOP Cuts Deal to More than Double Importation of Foreign Workers

Economists Trash Dems’ Fuel Price Control Proposal: ‘Can’t Believe They’re Dumb Enough To Do This’
“I just can’t believe they’re dumb enough to do this,” Benjamin Zycher, an economist and senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, told The Daily Caller News Foundation in an interview. “This is kind of obvious. It’s a terrible policy. Go find some of those gorgeous pictures from the 1970s of long gas lines,” said economist John Cochrane, a Hoover Institution senior fellow. “An important function of prices is to tell investors where to direct capital — where do we need to have more stuff produced? And when you put price controls on petroleum, it messes up that signal,” Institute for Energy Research senior economist David Kreutzer added. Several economists slammed a Democratic proposal making its way through Congress that would enable energy price controls amid record high fuel costs. Such a policy, which prohibits private companies from increasing prices regardless of market conditions, would have catastrophic consequences including energy supply shortages and … [Read more...] about Economists Trash Dems’ Fuel Price Control Proposal: ‘Can’t Believe They’re Dumb Enough To Do This’
The tantalizing possibilities of the Knicks’ best-case lottery scenario
It’s always dangerous to get conclusive about a draft class before the picks are called, let alone before the players step on the court, but the preliminary consensus among scouts and experts is that 2022 is top heavy. Specifically, there are four players that sit as the cream. So for the Knicks, who enter the draft lottery at No. 11, the drawing of Ping Pong balls Tuesday night in Chicago is consequential. Potentially franchise altering. There is a decent enough chance for them to crack the top-4 (9.4%) to pay attention, and the reaction of the always demonstrative William Wesley, who is sitting for the Knicks on the dais , will be worth a view regardless of the outcome. And if the Knicks’ lottery luck changes and the franchise moves up in the lottery for the first time since 1985, here’s a breakdown of the four prospective rewards (we’re ignoring that the team could also use such a lucrative pick to trade for a star. Ahem, Donovan Mitchell): JABARI SMITH JR. AGE: … [Read more...] about The tantalizing possibilities of the Knicks’ best-case lottery scenario

Good things seem to happen to Daisy Edgar-Jones while she’s busy doing something else. Several years later, she was on that same set when she found out that she had a shot at starring in the big screen adaptation of Delia Owens’ “ Where the Crawdads Sing ” (in theaters July 15). “It was so wild to me that they were thinking of me for it,” Edgar-Jones said last week from London . “I think I was surprised to be in consideration considering the popularity of the book and just how important it was.” “Where the Crawdads Sing" is about a girl named Kya who grows up alone in the marshes of North Carolina after her family abandons her. Jury selection underway in trial tied to FBI’s Russia probe
By ERIC TUCKER WASHINGTON (AP) — Jury selection got underway Monday in the trial of a lawyer for the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign who is accused of lying to the FBI as it investigated potential ties between Donald Trump and Russia in 2016. The case against Michael Sussmann, a cybersecurity attorney who represented the Clinton campaign in 2016, is the first trial arising from the ongoing investigation by special counsel John Durham and will test the strength of evidence he and his team have gathered while scrutinizing the early days of the Trump-Russia probe for potential misconduct. Sussmann appeared in court with his lawyers Monday as both sides worked to select jurors to hear the case, which is expected to last about two weeks. Prospective jurors who had already filled out questionnaires filed one-by-one into the courtroom to answer follow-up questions about topics including political contributions during the 2016 election and their opinions on lawyers and the criminal … [Read more...] about Jury selection underway in trial tied to FBI’s Russia probe
Inside comedian Larry Grayson’s personal life – from relationships to changes of name
Comedian Larry Grayson was a massive star of television and stage in the 1970s and 1980s, yet we hardly hear anything about him any more. His shows are never repeated, and he seems to be left out of tributes to the golden age of comedy – something he was very much a major part of. It’s almost as though he has been airbrushed from entertainment history. At his peak, hosting Larry Grayson’s Generation Game on BBC1 every Saturday evening, he was attracting audiences of well over 20 million – even more viewers than his predecessor, Bruce Forsyth. Those who do remember Larry will smile at just being reminded of him leaning on the back of his trademark bentwood chair, with his quirky catchphrases: “Seems like a nice boy” … “Look at the muck on ‘ere”… and, of course, “Shut that door”. His many fans will also fondly remember his invisible entourage of ne’er-do-wells who featured in his scandalous monologues – Slack Alice, Apricot Lil, Pop-It-In-Pete the postman, Sterilised Stan … [Read more...] about Inside comedian Larry Grayson’s personal life – from relationships to changes of name
