Joe Biden to Announce Support for Three-Month Gas Tax Holiday

June 22, 2022 by www.breitbart.com

President Joe Biden will use a planned speech Wednesday to call for Congress to suspend federal gas and diesel taxes for three months. The White House shared details of the president’s decision with reporters in a release , calling it a “unique moment” in history. “President Biden understands that a gas tax holiday alone will not, on its own, relieve the run-up in costs that we’ve seen,” the White House announced in a release. “But the President believes that at this unique moment when the war in Ukraine is imposing costs on American families, Congress should do what it can to provide working families breathing room.” The federal government charges 18 cents per gallon in taxes for gasoline and 24 cents per gallon for diesel. “I Did That” Biden sticker at gas station. Nolte: Watch Joe Biden Melt Down Over Putin and Gas Prices

June 22, 2022 by www.breitbart.com

His Fraudulency Joe Biden is watching his presidency implode and apparently assumed a good old-fashioned freak-out would change the narrative to something… well, something that only a senile old man can understand. I dare you to watch this and not laugh: Biden: "For all Republicans criticizing me for high gas prices in America, are you now saying we were wrong to support Ukraine and stand up to Putin? Are you saying that we'd rather have lower gas prices in America than Putin's iron fist in Europe?" pic.twitter.com/Z7U8YIFgnM — Greg Price (@greg_price11) June 22, 2022 For all Republicans criticizing me for high gas prices in America, are you now saying we were wrong to support Ukraine and stand up to Putin? Are you saying that we’d rather have lower gas prices in America than Putin’s iron fist in Europe? I don’t believe that? That is pure nutso. And he doesn’t believe what? That Republicans are saying that or … what? What is he saying? Even he doesn’t know. … [Read more...] about Nolte: Watch Joe Biden Melt Down Over Putin and Gas Prices

June 22, 2022 by www.breitbart.com

His Fraudulency Joe Biden’s disapproval rating has soared to an all-time high . Per the average at RealClearPolitics, Bicycle Joe currently sits at a whopping 55.8 percent disapproval. Over the last 60 days, Biden’s disapproval rating has climbed 4.1 points. In late April, his disapproval average was just 51.7 percent. Hunter’s Dad’s average approval rating currently sits at a dismal 39.6 percent. That puts him underwater by 16.2 points, which is also a record for this terrible president. On this same date in the first year of his presidency ( June 24, 2017 ), even with the corrupt corporate media hurling lie after lie after lie about Russia Collusion, Donald Trump was in better shape than Biden per the RealClear average: 40.2 approve, 54.2 disapprove. Joe Biden warned gas tax holiday threatens jobs, vital infrastructure

June 23, 2022 by www.newsweek.com

Dozens of transport and infrastructure groups have warned President Joe Biden that his plan to suspend the federal gas tax will jeopardize road maintenance and upgrades. The Americans for Transportation Mobility (ATM) coalition and the Transportation Construction Coalition (TCC) said that Biden's call for Congress to suspend the 18.4 cent per gallon tax for three months would have a knock on effect for American roads, bridges, transit systems and jobs. The taxes fund road and public transport infrastructure through the Highway Trust Fund (HTF), but a White House fact sheet said suspending the levy for three months was essential to help Americans deal with soaring gas prices caused by "(Vladimir) Putin's war in Ukraine." However, in a letter to Biden, 33 groups said that the gas tax holiday, costing around $10 billion, risks undermining funding for the HTF, "which is essential for our economy's long-term, sustained growth." It said that Biden's plan would also "undermine … [Read more...] about Joe Biden warned gas tax holiday threatens jobs, vital infrastructure

Joe Biden’s Approval Drops Fourth Straight Week to Hit Lowest-Ever Level

June 23, 2022 by www.breitbart.com

The more American voters see of President Joe Biden, the less they seem to like him or his ability to stem rising gas prices, high inflation and a potential recession looming over the horizon. That is one conclusion to be drawn from a Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll released Wednesday showing Biden’s public approval rating fell for a fourth straight week to 36 percent matching its lowest level last seen in late May. The president’s approval rating has stayed below 50 percent since August, just as his Democratic Party faces the prospect of losing at least one chamber of the U.S. Congress in the November 8th midterm elections. The poll also highlighted the chief concerns for voters. Thirty-four percent of Americans say the economy is the most important issue currently facing the country as 40-year-highs in inflation are reached under this administration. Say What?! Joe Biden bracing for most difficult midterms in 48 years

June 23, 2022 by www.newsweek.com

President Joe Biden and the Democrats are facing the most difficult midterm elections in 48 years, according to new polling from Gallup that shows Americans' dissatisfaction with the state of the U.S. Gallup found that the mood of the nation is the worst it has been in any midterm election year since 1974—the year that Richard Nixon resigned from the presidency following the Watergate scandal and investigations. According to the new survey, just 13 percent of Americans were satisfied with the direction the U.S. is going and just 16 percent approve of the job Congress is doing. About 87 percent of Americans are now dissatisfied with the direction of the country and 82 percent disapprove of Congress. Biden's job approval stood at 41 percent in June and was unchanged since May. Disapproval of the president now stands at 57 percent, while 3 percent of respondents had no opinion. Gallup's latest poll was conducted from June 1 to 20 with a random sample of 1,005 U.S. adults … [Read more...] about Joe Biden bracing for most difficult midterms in 48 years

Joe Biden to Unveil Plan to Pump $1.5 Trillion Into Covid-19 Pandemic-hit US Economy

January 14, 2021 by www.news18.com

US President-elect Joe Biden will unveil a stimulus package proposal on Thursday designed to jump-start the economy during the coronavirus pandemic with an economic lifeline that could exceed $1.5 trillion and help minority communities. Biden campaigned last year on a promise to take the pandemic more seriously than President Donald Trump, and the package aims to put that pledge into action with an influx of resources for the coronavirus vaccine rollout and economic recovery. The incoming administration will work with Congress on the quick stimulus package after Biden takes office on Jan. 20, although the impeachment of Trump threatens to consume lawmakers in the initial weeks. The stimulus package has a price tag above $1.5 trillion and includes a commitment for $1,400 stimulus checks, according to a source familiar with the proposal, and Biden is expected to commit to partner with private companies to increase the number of Americans getting vaccinated. A significant portion … [Read more...] about Joe Biden to Unveil Plan to Pump $1.5 Trillion Into Covid-19 Pandemic-hit US Economy

US President Joe Biden Wants to Avoid Obama Era’s Biggest Economic Mistake, Congress May Not Let Him

January 22, 2021 by www.news18.com

The federal government didn’t act aggressively enough in 2009 to fight the Great Recession. And the economic recovery was weaker as a result. Joe Biden, as former President Obama’s vice president, learned that painful lesson firsthand. That’s why Biden is taking a go-big, or go-home approach now that he’s inheriting a fragile economy and the worst pandemic in a century. Biden’s $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan shows that he’s determined to avoid repeating the mistakes of the Great Recession if Congress lets him. “If we look back and think this plan was too big, that would be a regret that would be fine to live with,” Jason Furman, one of the architects of the 2009 stimulus plan, told CNN Business. Furman, a former top economic aide to Obama, recalled that the team wanted a $1 trillion stimulus package in 2009 — or roughly 25% bigger than the record-setting legislation that ultimately got through Congress. NEWS18 EXPLAINS: How US President Joe Biden’s Proposed Gas Tax Holiday Would Work

June 23, 2022 by www.news18.com

Facing stubbornly high gas prices that average about $5 a gallon nationwide, President Joe Biden on Wednesday urged Congress to suspend federal gasoline and diesel taxes for three months. If savings from the 18.4 cents-a-gallon federal tax on gas are fully passed along to consumers, drivers would save about $2.76 for a 15-gallon fill-up. It’s unclear, though, if Biden can push his proposal through Congress, where lawmakers, including some Democrats, are skeptical or even opposed to the idea. Many economists also are wary of a gas tax holiday. A look at how the proposed gas tax holiday would work and what impact it might have on gas prices and a highway trust fund that is paid for in large part by taxes on gasoline and diesel fuel. WHY IS BIDEN PROPOSING A GAS TAX HOLIDAY? The price of gas is up dramatically around the world — and by nearly $2 per gallon in the United States — since Russian President Vladimir Putin began amassing troops on the border of Ukraine. High gas prices … [Read more...] about NEWS18 EXPLAINS: How US President Joe Biden’s Proposed Gas Tax Holiday Would Work
