President Joe Biden’s senior communications aide Meghan Hays, who served as the White House Easter Bunny this year, is leaving her position, officials confirmed. “Very few people have had as deep an impact on every facet of President Biden’s communications as Meghan has,” White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield said in a statement to CNN, adding, “We will miss her tremendously.” Hays made a splash after she publicly interrupted the president while wearing the White House Easter Bunny suit during an April event on the South Lawn. As the president was speaking to reporters about Afghanistan, the costumed Hays ran up to him and started waving her arms in front of his face to distract him and direct him elsewhere. Thomas the Tank Engine Fans Warned ‘Fat Controller’ Name Is ‘A Slur’
Thomas the Tank Engine fans were left dumbfounded when staff at a heritage railway line upbraided them for referring to the Fat Controller, branding the name a “slur”. Staff at the Watercress Line railway in Hampshire — recently infamous for its aggressively woke police force — interrupted a conversation between visitors who were “talking about The Fat Controller” to admonish them for referring to the 77-year-old character as such. “In no uncertain terms we were told no one could use such a slur,” said one father quoted by The Sun . A second visitor told the right-leaning tabloid that staff at the heritage railway, which hosts a working engine designed to look like Thomas , that the Fat Controller name “belongs to another era” — a somewhat ironic admonishment from an attraction operating steam locomotives. The championship, which has over 60 participants, was inaugurated by Tourism Minister P.A. Mohamed Riyas in the evening. What is the Espionage Act? Legal experts think Trump may have violated law
Prominent legal experts speculate that former President Donald Trump may be suspected of violating a range of laws, including the Espionage Act, by taking classified documents from the White House and keeping them improperly at his Mar-a-Lago resort residence in Florida. The FBI , with the approval of Attorney General Merrick Garland , on Monday conducted a raid at Mar-a-Lago , reportedly retrieving many sensitive government documents from Trump's residence. The search warrant was approved by a federal judge, who assessed that there was probable cause to carry out the raid. Trump has blasted the FBI raid, alleging that it is part of a partisan "witch hunt" against him. Meanwhile, The Washington Post reported that the documents included information related to nuclear weapons, and The New York Times said the raid aimed to recover documents "related to some of the most highly classified programs" in the country. Sources told Newsweek that the raid was based largely on … [Read more...] about What is the Espionage Act? Legal experts think Trump may have violated law
Women at India’s Only-certified Tricolour-making Unit Flag Drop in Sales after Govt Changes Rules
For the women at the khadi units in Karnataka’s Bengeri, weaving the national flag is not a task but an emotion. Every weave, every flag is painstakingly made with love and pride. From the tiny tricolour that flutters on government vehicles, the ones atop our government buildings, schools and embassies across the world, to the flag that embraces our brave slain soldiers, each of them is made in this quaint little north Karnataka town. The Karnataka Khadi and Gramodyoga Samyukta Sangha (Federation), or KKGSS, located in Bengeri village in Hubbali, is the only authorised unit with BIS certification in India to manufacture and supply the tricolour across the world. The controversy One would think that the Indian government’s initiative of Har Ghar Tiranga (tricolour in every home) as part of the 75th Independence Day celebrations would have brought a cheer to the women of Bengeri who have been manufacturing khadi flags since 1957. But the reality is that they are quite … [Read more...] about Women at India’s Only-certified Tricolour-making Unit Flag Drop in Sales after Govt Changes Rules
Exclusive: Trump Raid Documents Could Reveal Intel Sources on U.S. Payroll
In pursuing the unprecedented search of Donald Trump 's residence on Monday, the FBI was seeking to retrieve Top Secret and "compartmented" documents dealing with intelligence "sources and methods," two federal government sources tell Newsweek— documents with the potential to reveal U.S. intelligence sources, including human sources on the American government payroll. This greatly complicates any public discussion of the documents or any substantiation of Trump's potential violation of U.S. law. The sources, who were briefed on the investigation, requested anonymity in order to discuss sensitive information. "Compartmented" is a specific term meaning "classified information concerning or derived from intelligence sources, methods, or analytical processes, which is required to be handled within formal access control systems established by the Director of National Intelligence." Michigan Pastor Says Church Has Repented for Using Word ‘Picnic’
A woke Michigan pastor said his church has repented for using the word “picnic” to describe a church garden party or barbecue, due to the “negative association in the black community.” Tom Arthur, pastor of Lansing, Michigan’s Sycamore Creek Church — a Methodist organization — seemingly engaged in a discussion inspired by a program striving to “empower people and culture toward racial healing, equity and reconciliation.” Arthur, a self-described “white moderate,” reacted to a reading of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. quote, “Shallow understanding from people of goodwill is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection.” “Man, I feel like Dr. King is speaking directly to me. A white moderate,” Arthur said, adding his tendency is to “try to get rid of the tension as quickly as possible.” File/The U.S. clergyman and civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jnr.
