Cedar Hill High School students returned to class amid extra security Friday after a threat to shoot up the school turned up on social media Thursday. According to an email the school district sent out, Cedar Hill police have identified the location of the threat and "have a plan to apprehend those they believe are involved."The school district's police force discovered the threat on Instagram, which shows a young male making obscene gestures above a caption that partially reads, "don't go to school tomorrow I'm shooting up the school and people will die be ready ..."Another post includes similar language and has photos of several people, many of whom appear to be students.Both posts have since been taken down.School district police alerted the city of Cedar Hill's Police Department, which quickly pinned down a source location, said Jamie Brown, the school district's executive director of communications.Cedar Hill police referred all questions to the school district. MENLO PARK, Calif. — Police in Menlo Park are investigating a bomb threat early Tuesday evening near offices of Facebook and Instagram, according to authorities. CBS San Francisco reports the police department issued an alert shortly after 5 p.m. asking the public to avoid the area as officers investigate a bomb threat. Menlo Park police confirmed to CBS San Francisco that the bomb threat was initially called in to the New York Police Department and the information was relayed to local law enforcement. The threatened building, which is on the main Facebook campus, has been evacuated and a bomb squad is going through the building looking for evidence of a bomb.
