The total bad debts assessed so far that is owed to the public sector banks in India amounts to Ten Lakh Crores of Rupees. As per the report published by the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India(“IBBI”),in respect of the 32 companies which are stated to have been resolved in insolvency resolution process under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 (“IBC”), there is a recovery of Rs.49,783 crores which amounts to 56 % recovery. The issue of US $ 200,000,000 notes by Rolta LLC to be listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange was guaranteed, amongst others, by Rolta India Limited. The Issue was jointly managed by Barclays, Citigroup, DBS Bank and Deutsche Bank (the ‘Joint Lead Managers’).Trilegal acted on behalf of the Joint Lead Managers and its role involved reviewing and commenting on Indian law implications on the New York law governed transaction documents. Trilegal also advised the Joint Lead Managers on the regulatory regime governing the provision of guarantee by an Indian company to its indirect wholly owned subsidiary.
