The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), which are counted among the noted business schools in the country, have faced a budget cut this year with the Centre reducing their grant by half. The top institutes, however, believe that the move might hurt new IIMs but not the second or first generation IIMs. There are 20 IIMs across the country. In the budget for 2023-24 announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday, the funding for IIMs has been brought down to Rs 300 crore from the previous fiscal year’s Revised Estimate (RE) of Rs 608.23 crore, a 50.67 per cent drop, even when the net budget for the fiscal year 2023-24 rose by 8 per cent amounting to Rs 44,094 crores for the higher education sector. UGC Releases List of MOOCs to be Offered by IIM Bangalore, IGNOU
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released a list of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) that are ready to be offered for the January semester of 2023. The MOOCs are currently available on the SWAYAM portal at swayam.gov.in. “The list of MOOCs, which are ready to be offered by UGC, CEC, llM-B, NPTEL, IGNOU on SWAYAM Platform for January Semester also be seen at SWAYAM Portal at - swayam.gov.in,” reads the notice. The list of MOOCs that are offered by the following National Coordinators includes the University Grants Commission (UGC), Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC), Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B), National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL), and Indira Gandhi Open National University (IGNOU). BJP national president JP Nadda on Tuesday released the poll manifesto ‘Nagaland Vision Document 2023’ for the state assembly election in Kohima. ISB Course Ranked India’s Best in FT Global MBA Ranking 2023
The Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad is the only Indian institute to find a place in the top 50 of the Financial Times (FT) Global MBA Ranking 2023. The prestigious B-school has also been ranked 39th globally and sixth in Asia. The postgraduate courses offered by ISB have been adjudged the best in India.
