Two boozy students downed more than 165 pints on an epic journey that's set to become the 'World's longest pub crawl' - and so far they're only halfway through. Harry Bellow, 24, and Elliot Blake, 25, graduated from university and decided to celebrate so set off with all the clothes they could carry and just £2,000 in cash. They plan to walk more than 3,000 miles across 12 countries - all on a shoestring budget. They came up with the idea because they needed something to do and had "bleak career prospects", so they just set off on foot. They now have over 10 million views and 130K followers on TikTok after trekking from the Netherlands to Turkey, and the pair hope to reach their final stop of Istanbul, Turkey, by October after roughly 120 days. Samsung Unveils New Foldable Phones
August 11, 2022 13:09 Samsung unveiled its latest foldable smartphones in New York on Wednesday. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 have a longer battery life and improved camera functions and are lighter than their predecessors. Wales 12-26 Argentina: Second-half rush from visitors condemns Wales to fourth-straight loss
Wales' hopes of securing a top-four seeding in the 2015 World Cup nosedived after Argentina stunned them at the Millennium Stadium. Eleven years to the day following Argentina's only previous victory over Wales in Cardiff, second-half tries from wings Juan Imhoff and Gonzalo Camacho left the reigning RBS 6 Nations champions reeling. And to make matters worse, Wales also suffered a double injury blow when centre Jamie Roberts and lock Alun-Wyn Jones departed inside the opening 40 minutes. Full-back Leigh Halfpenny kicked all Wales' points, but they were outplayed by a Pumas team battle-hardened from recent home and away appointments with New Zealand, Australia and South Africa in the southern hemisphere's inaugural Rugby Championship. Fly-half Nicolas Sanchez weighed in with two drop-goals, two conversions and a penalty, while veteran centre Felipe Contepomi kicked a penalty before he was forced off injured after just 10 minutes. Wales' interim head coach Rob Howley - in … [Read more...] about Wales 12-26 Argentina: Second-half rush from visitors condemns Wales to fourth-straight loss
Fancy a double? Welsh star Ryan Jones hoping Six Nations victory before Capital One Cup success for Swansea
Ryan Jones is dreaming of a memorable Welsh double this weekend. The veteran forward will lead Wales against Italy in the Six Nations on Saturday and 24 hours later Swansea face Bradford City in the Capital One Cup final. Jones, whose wife Ailsa is a physio at the club, is a lifelong Swansea supporter and is desperate for a twin celebration. He said: “It’s wonderful to be in the final – it’s amazing for Welsh sport and brilliant for our city of Swansea. I’m a big fan and want to wish them all the best. I’m just gutted I can’t make it. Lets have some silverware brought home.” Jones, who was a goalkeeper for Bristol City as a schoolboy, will skipper Wales for the 31st time on Saturday- with Sam Warburton named among the replacements. But he insists his role within the squad will not change. He said: “It’s only a title - I’m just happy to be involved and enjoying it. “If a tag comes with playing so be it, it makes no difference to me if I’m captain on a game-by-game basis or … [Read more...] about Fancy a double? Ryan Jones withdraws from Wales squad with hamstring injury ahead of Six Nations defence
?Wales have been hit by an injury blow after back-row forward Ryan Jones was withdrawn from their RBS Six Nations squad due to a hamstring injury. Love Island star kicked off This Morning by Vernon Kay after ‘rude’ confession
Vernon Kay was not impressed with Love Island contestant Jay Younger during Tuesday's edition of This Morning . The latest instalment of the ITV show saw Vernon, 48, and his co-host Rochelle Humes invite Jay, along with fellow Islanders Billy Brown and Deji Adeniyi, into the studio for a fashion segment. Lisa Snowdon was keen to show off some great swimwear for men and decided to use the Love Island boys as her models. Scotsman Jay modelled a couple of pairs of swim shorts but father-of-two Vernon was not impressed when Jay, 28, made a comment about his own exercise regime. ( Image: ITV) As he strolled onto the catwalk wearing a pair of teal adidas shorts as she showed off his toned and tanned physique. As Lisa, 50, finished the description of the garment, Vernon asked Jay: "What's your favourite stomach exercise for your abs?" "Erm I actually don't do any stomach exercises," Jay replied grinning as Vernon immediately leapt out of his seat. ‘Tories should invest in sports facilities, not close them, to help young people’
Commonwealth Games swimming gold winner Adam Peaty ’s dig at the Tories as sports facilities shut in their droves puts a high-profile voice to fears that future generations will be denied his greatness. England’s winning goal scorer Chloe Kelly and her triumphant team mates express a similar sentiment in calls for their Wembley glory to inspire more girls to play football. Without pools, pitches and coaches, and every school encouraging every boy and girl to stretch their ability, the Tories will repeat the failure of the London 2012 Olympic Games to create a true sporting legacy. The warning signs are now there again when the amount of money per pupil spent on education is worth less now than when the Conservatives took power in 2010. ‘I offered to help at my friend’s wedding – she tried taking advantage of my kindness’
If you're trying to keep your wedding costs as low as possible , then it's often a good idea to enlist the help of your friends to take over some of the roles you would usually have to pay a fortune for. But one couple on a budget recently rejected their mate's offer to take photos at their wedding because she didn't have a "wedding portfolio" - even though she'd be doing the work for free. The woman claimed her friend said "thanks but no thanks" to her suggestion, but called her just days before her wedding and begged her to be the wedding photographer as she and her fiancé had failed to book anyone else. And while the woman would have loved to have said yes, she insisted the bride was asking her to work all day - including taking photos of the bride getting ready and travelling to the venue. The woman refused to be treated as a last resort (stock photo) ( Image: Getty Images/iStockphoto) Get the news you want straight to your inbox. Noel Gallagher banned from China for life as he is ‘enemy of the people’
Noel Gallagher is banned from setting foot in China and can't perform any of his or Oasis' hit songs due to being "enemy of the people". The songwriter upset authorities in the communist Asian country due to a charity concert he performed at in 1997. He and his Oasis band-mates were asked to perform at a Tibetan Freedom Concert in New York during the time that the Britpop band were in their pomp. Foo Fighters and Beastie Boys were the headline acts at the two-day charity event held at Downing Stadium on Randall's Island in June 1997, with other artists such as U2, Radiohead, Bjork, Alanis Morissette and Blur also making appearances.
