LONDON (Reuters) - Investment bank JP Morgan said on Friday that an agreement between Britain and the European Union on a transitional Brexit deal appeared likely to be reached in the coming days. "Agreement in time for a November 17-18 summit appears to remain possible even if odds are slightly against it with dates later in November being suggested," JP Morgan economist Malcolm Barr said in a note to clients. "We continue to think it likely that the Commons (UK lower house of parliament) will not give its assent to the agreement on the first attempt (in late November or early December), but... assent will be attained at a second or later attempt (in early to mid-January)." Several countries in Europe have banned the niqab, and the burka, the full face veil. France, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Denmark have said they … [Read more...] about Why has Algeria banned niqabs and what is the law on wearing them in the UK?

A FEMALE pedestrian was killed and two others injured when a lorry involved in a crime smashed into a house today. A huge chunk was missing from the side of the house on Park View, in Barnsley, and the front of the truck was completely totalled. Cops confirmed four suspects were arrested and the white vehicle had been "involved in crime" before the crash. They would not confirm reports from nearby residents that police cars had been following the HGV at the time. A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said officers were called out to the scene at around 1.40pm. Officers cordoned off the area around the newly-built house, which suffered severe damage around the back. People living close to the scene of the collision said they were alerted by a loud bang.
