Amid homeless ‘emergency,’ LA seeks to shelter every person on street by end of the year
By Elizabeth Chou | [email protected] | Daily News PUBLISHED: March 23, 2018 at 12:13 pm | UPDATED: March 23, 2018 at 4:03 pm The Los Angeles City Council voted Friday to develop an “emergency” plan aimed at immediately sheltering all of the city’s homeless individuals who are still living out in the open, including those in tents, mobile homes and on sidewalks. Los Angeles County health officials declared an official outbreak of hepatitis A last September after cases of the disease spiked in Los Angeles, San Diego and Santa Cruz.
