Family meals are meant to be fun get-togethers so different generations can enjoy catching up and making plans for the future. One woman's family dinner did not go to plan, however, when all hell broke loose between her husband and her mum because of the husband's behaviour towards a waitress. She wrote: "My mom, sister, and my sister-in-law have all been planning and organising my upcoming baby shower. Pretty much everything is done already and I honestly could not be more grateful to have such a loving bunch in my life caring about me, but here's where things get complicated. Ask Amy: Final break-up does not require details
Dear Amy: I’ve been in an on-and-off relationship with a man whose handsy, flirtatious style of interacting with women he finds attractive has always bothered me. I’ve broken up with him over this and have explained in detail several times how humiliating it feels to me when he acts this way. The times we’ve started up again, he always says he’s a “new man” who understands my feelings. He even thanks me for helping him to be a more-respectful person. Then, months later, things begin to slide. This time, the slide was accompanied by a health scare for me when I had some symptoms that are commonly associated with an STD. I tested negative for this STD (he’s positive for the STD, and we use condoms), but his behavior toward one woman in our group became so flirtatious that my mind started interpreting threats everywhere regarding our relationship. I decided to look at his text messages with this woman, whom he once described as someone he feels “fatherly” toward. Sure … [Read more...] about Ask Amy: Final break-up does not require details

The UK’s publicly funded healthcare system is not properly questioning its “transgender” patients before surgery, a former “transgender woman” has alleged. A person who formerly lived as a “transgender woman” has alleged that the UK’s socialised healthcare system is not properly questioning people before they undergo sex-change surgery. Ritchie Herron, who has returned to identifying as a man, voiced the allegations while saying that he intended to take legal action against the British National Health Service (NHS) over the way it treated him. According to a report by The Times , Herron claimed that the socialised healthcare provider failed to heed his own concerns about undergoing transgender surgery, with medics even allegedly putting down his fears to his obsessive compulsive disorder. As a result, Herron reportedly ended up undergoing a “vaginoplasty surgery”, the results of which have allegedly left him in pain, with no sex drive, and with problems emptying his … [Read more...] about NHS Failing to Properly Question ‘Transgender’ Patients Before Surgery

W hen you’re admired and well known, “people are always nice to you,” the actor Robert De Niro once confessed to Esquire magazine. “You’re in a conversation, and everybody’s agreeing with what you’re saying.” Sounds great! Agreement makes life smooth, and the praise and esteem of others gives us pleasure, even stimulating a reward center in our brain. Wanting to surround ourselves with admirers, if we can, is only natural. But in his interview, De Niro clarified exactly what a life filled with admirers can mean. Admirers agree with you “even if you say something totally crazy.” And that’s bad: “You need people who can tell you what you don’t want to hear,” he said. In other words, the admiration of others can be a double-edged sword. Being admired for our … [Read more...] about Why You Should Befriend the People You Admire
