The iconic photo from 2010 of Dwyane Wade under the basket in Milwaukee with his arms outstretch as LeBron James is completing a tomahawk dunk in the background made the rounds on social media this week. The shot was revisited after ESPN’s Dave McMenamin posted that Wade once told him that was the one photo he will ask LeBron to sign to hang in his house when he’s retired. The photo also caught the attention of former Heat guard Mario Chalmers, who shared four NBA Finals appearances and two titles (2012-13) with Wade, James and Chris Bosh as the Heat’s point guard. Chalmers posted on his Instagram account that the play, which occurred during a game early in the 2010-11 season, James’ first in Miami, came off his steal. Chalmers, of course, likely was joking as he followed the comment with a ‘lol.’ But if not, his memory is a bit fuzzy. The play, which came in the first quarter, started when the Bucks’ Brandon Jennings missed a 3-point shot and … [Read more...] about What former Heat guard Mario Chalmers had to say about iconic Dwyane Wade-LeBron James photo
Philadelphia’s Dario Saric celebrates in front of Miami’s Hassan Whiteside during the Sixers’ victory in Game 1 of playoffs Saturday in Philadelphia,. (Photo by Mitchell Leff/Getty Images) PHILADELPHIA – We learned something about Hassan Whiteside after Game 1 of the Heat’s playoff series with Philadelphia. The dude is a fast learner. You see, games like Saturday’s is when Whiteside usually blames everybody else for his failures. When at times he would justify whatever numbers he’s put up by citing a lack of minutes or even once saying he did his job during a Heat loss. And it was a game like Saturday’s – two points in 12 minutes – that prompted the Heat’s $98-million man to compare Erik Spoelstra’s in-game decision making to the discharge from cattle that creates a foul odor on country farms. Whiteside’s rehearsed answers – and Spoelstra’s downplaying of a situation that will be the Heat’s … [Read more...] about Does Heat center Hassan Whiteside have it in him to flip narrative after humiliating Game 1?
The Vacation bench of the Supreme Court of Justices A.K.Sikri and Deepak Gupta, on Monday, heard heated arguments of the rival counsel on the merits of cancelling anticipatory bail to former officials of the Jodhpur Development Authority, K.K.Mathur and Rajendra Singh Solanki. The Anti-Corruption Bureau of the State Government had registered cases against them for alleged irregularities in JDA in 2013.While the Rajasthan High Court had granted them anticipatory bail on April 21, the Supreme Court bench of Justices J. The much-awaited hearing of the petition filed by Arvind Kejriwal government seeking demarcation of powers of the state government and Lt Governor Najeeb Jung who have been engaged in a prolonged battle of wits seems to be a non-starter. After Justice J S Khehar recused from hearing the plea yesterday, today it was the turn of justice L Nageswara Rao to withdraw from the case. Apparently the reason is that Rao was an Additional Solicitor General of the Central government before he quit the post and continued active practice before being elevated to the bench. This meant that the case will now travel to a fourth bench within a span of five days. First Chief Justice T S Thakur said he will refer to another bench which was Justice Khehar’s bench. After he recused yesterday it had gone to bench headed by Justice A R Dave who sits with Justice Nageswara Rao.After Justice Rao recused, advocate Indira Jaising who represented Delhi government once again mentioned the … [Read more...] about Kejri Vs LG hearing a non-starter as Justice Rao also recuses; Will now go to a 4th bench
