Disclosure of the wildly different prices paid by insurers for the same services in the same market would probably incite competition and “drive down health care prices,” the administration said in soliciting comment on its idea. Now the Trump Administration yesterday agreed to cut Medicaid benefits.The weird rationale: to see if that "helps" people sign up for Medicaid. The logic is as cruel and backward as it sounds.Seema Verma, the Trump Administration's current Medicare and Medicaid administrator, has repeatedly tweeted about the "dangers" of providing Medicare-style coverage to all citizens in America, even though most every other developed nation on earth has figured out a way to do basically that for its citizens. Verma has complained so often about Medicare-for-All that the watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington filed a formal complaint alleging that her anti-Medicare tweets violated the Hatch Act, which prohibits many federal employees from influencing or endorsing political campaigns.Florida, where the government is controlled by Republicans, gave Verma a chance to cut Medicare and Medicaid coverage for the needy — and Verma took that shot yesterday. The health care provider discontinued its services for Ron and 15 other New Hampshire veterans who are housebound or cannot venture outside without assistance. Advertisement The reason?
