A woman 's pitch-perfect response to a man offering unsolicited advice in the gym has been praised online. Adhering to a fitness regime may be an important part of any healthy lifestyle but for some women a visit to the gym can often be an awkward and intimidating experience. A 2019 study of 2,000 women conducted by deodorant brand Sure Women, found one in four women suffer from "gymtimidation" and will often shy away from exercise in these shared spaces for fear of judgment. Nearly half, meanwhile, said they had felt negatively judged at some point while working out with just over a third stating that they felt others believed they were not "good enough" to exercise. Worse still, just under a third of respondents reported feeling like they were not "attractive" when working out. Though the source of this discomfort is still the subject of some debate, several instances have surfaced on social media in recent months showing women being made to feel uncomfortable by … [Read more...] about Woman praised over hilarious three-word reply to man offering advice in gym

Patrick Beverley thinks the Warriors are going to win the championship, will ‘run Chris Paul out’ of the gym
Over at ESPN, it seems as though the alarm is going off over concern of the Golden State Warriors ’ title chances after Wednesday’s blowout loss against the Grizzlies. But not everyone is worried. Timberwolves guard Patrick Beverley joined "NBA Today" on Thursday to talk some hoops on the "Worldwide Leader" and not only dismissed the concerns of Richard Jefferson and Kendrick Perkins , but said he thinks the Dubs are title favorites. “That team winning the championship, I don’t know what y’all watching. These are the Golden State Warriors we’re talking about, man,” he said. Beverley then immediately pointed at Jordan Poole and Jonathan Kuminga — though he had to check how to pronounce the latter player’s last name — as reasons why the Warriors are still championship contenders. Perkins then brought up the potential issues Golden State might face in the next round with a team as experienced and talented as the Phoenix Suns, but Beverley brushed that off, too. … [Read more...] about Patrick Beverley thinks the Warriors are going to win the championship, will ‘run Chris Paul out’ of the gym

Women can be strip-searched by transgender police officers who were born male
Female suspects can be strip-searched by transgender women who were born male, according to recent police guidance. The new advice issued by the National Police Chief's Council (NPCC) to British police chiefs advises each force to recognise the new identity of transgender officers from the "moment they transition". "Thus, once a Transgender colleague has transitioned, they will search persons of the same gender as their own lived gender,' the guidance reads. If the suspect objects to being searched by a transgender officer, the council says it might be "advisable" to swap to a different cop. But if refusal is based on discriminatory views, the council says a "non-crime hate incident" should be recorded. The guidance - which was released quietly in December - was revealed by former superintendent Cathy Larkman, the Mail On Sunday reports. ‘Devastated’ Adam Peaty ruled out of world championships due to broken foot
Adam Peaty admitted he was “devastated” at having to withdraw from the upcoming World Aquatics Championships in Budapest after breaking a bone in his foot earlier this week. Peaty sustained the injury while training in the gym and faces six weeks out, meaning he will be unable to defend the 50 and 100 metres breaststroke and men’s 4x100m medley relay titles he won in 2019 in Gwangju, South Korea. The men’s 100m breaststroke, Peaty’s signature event where he won Olympic gold at Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, is due to start on the opening day of the championships on June 18, so the 27-year-old has reluctantly ruled himself out of the trip to Hungary. “I’ve fortunately never had to deal with an injury in my swimming career so this is a real blow and a new challenge for me,” the three-time Olympic champion said in a post on his social media channels. “I’m already in great hands and starting to recover but, honestly, I’m devastated. I was on track for a huge summer so, like … [Read more...] about ‘Devastated’ Adam Peaty ruled out of world championships due to broken foot
