Nazem Kadri and Jake DeBrusk wanted nothing to do with each other Saturday night. Or perhaps they wanted everything to do with each other. The two forwards got into it multiple times during Boston’s 4-1 win in Game 2 of their first-round playoff series at TD Garden. Midway through the first period, the two got tangled up when DeBrusk tried to poke the puck away from Kadri along the boards. Both ended up on the ice, and an official had to separate them. Each player received a roughing penalty for the scuffle. The scuffling escalated at the end of the second period when the two met again in the Bruins’ O-zone. James Hawkins The Detroit News Published 2:24 PM EDT Mar 14, 2019 Ann Arbor — Michigan walked into the Breslin Center last weekend with a shot to win a title. The Wolverines could see it. They could taste it. And by halftime, they could feel the Big Ten regular-season championship in their hands. But by the end of it, Michigan walked out empty-handed stinging from another loss to rival Michigan State and a second-half collapse that saw a share of the crown slip through its fingers. “There's heartbreak at the end of the season, but I've had bigger heartbreaks,” Michigan coach John Beilein said on Wednesday. “You just move on and you've got something else going right in front of you.” What’s lies ahead for No. 10 Michigan (25-6) is another opportunity to win another title — and a chance to make history in the process. The Wolverines will head to the Big Ten tournament at the United Center in Chicago as the two-time … [Read more...] about Michigan has something to prove as it targets Big Ten tournament three-peat
<>George Mingus, professional guide of Tumbling Trout Fly Shop, heads to ice fishing point with the fishing gears at Antero Reservoir on Jan. 5. (Hyoung Chang, The Denver Post) Ice fishing is much easier, cheaper and safer than you might have thought — and you probably have a lot of the necessary gear already in your closet. I’m an avid fisher and had long wanted to try ice fishing. So I grabbed a guide, went on my first ice-fishing trip, and got some insider tips. Don’t forget to bring: Warm clothes, layers Sunglasses (the glare is strong, even on a cloudy day) Waterproof boots A sled Auger (hand, gas or electric) Shelter Chairs Ice shovel, pick, ice scooper Two buckets (one for tools, one for fish) Jig heads (the size depends on what you plan to catch) Rod and reel (Bass Pro Shop will have affordable options, but go early in the season) Heater (optional) Ice fishing season typically starts in late December and lasts until mid-February, according to … [Read more...] about What you need to know about ice fishing in Colorado if it’s your first time
