Polestar is giving the public a glimpse of its future by showing off a development prototype of the Polestar 5 at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed this week. The all-electric grand touring sedan is the latest iteration of the Polestar Precept concept that was first unveiled in 2020. "Polestar 5 is shaping up to be a superb 4-door GT and a true Polestar at heart," Polestar UK head of R&D Pete Allen said in a press release. "The platform combines low-volume performance car attributes with modern technological advances to bring light-weight, high-rigidity sports car chassis technology into mass production." It features a lightweight aluminum chassis, with the styling of a grand touring car. Eschewing the boxy design of the Polestar 2 sedan, the 5 opts for a more rounded approach, with boomerang headlights and thin tail lights at the edges of the car. Industries and IT Minister K.T.Rama Rao met Foxconn Chairman Young Liu in New Delhi on Thursday and showcased the State, especially the policy initiatives for investors. Taiwan-based Hon Hai Technology Group, which is behind Foxconn, is one of the leading electronics manufacturing services (EMS) providers globally and largest suppliers for many top tier international customers. Foxconn has manufacturing units in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. A release from the Minister’s office said Mr.Rao and Mr.Liu discussed Foxconn’s plans of expanding footprint in India. Electricity Minister K. Krishnankutty has stressed the need for affordable technologies to take clean energy to the masses. Speaking after inaugurating the Clean Energy Innovation and Business Incubation Centre (CEIBIC), a joint initiative of the Energy Management Centre, the Clean Energy International Incubation Centre and the Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K- DISC), here on Wednesday, he called on the scientific community to think of producing cheap electricity from thorium deposits in Kerala. KUALA LUMPUR: Consumer electrical and electronics retailer Senheng New Retail Bhd is set to spend RM74.3 million on capital expenditure (CAPEX) for 2022. Executive chairman Lim Kim Heng said RM49.0 million of the CAPEX will be used to launch 21 new or upgraded stores this year while the remaining RM25.3 million had been utilised to acquire 1.17 hectares of land in Bandar Bukit Raja, Selangor, in May 2022, to support future expansion and upgrading of its warehousing and distribution network. A couple bought a builders van for £7,000 and converted it into a chic home which they now use to tour Europe - despite having no DIY experience. David Montgomery, 30, and Abbie Murray, 27, bought their high-top Ford Transit for a bargain price, but it was a little bare inside with panel walls, metal floor, and no windows. A Russian thermobaric multiple rocket launcher that is mounted on a tank chassis fired at Ukrainian targets with devastating effects, according to reports from Russia military. The TOS-1A "Solntsepyok" vehicle, which has a multiple rocket launcher mounted on a T-72 tank chassis, is being deployed somewhere in Ukraine and reportedly firing thermobaric warheads at Ukrainian targets, as images reportedly show. The vehicle can be seen sporting a white "Z" daubed its side. The "Z" is one of the symbols, as well as the letters "V" and "O" that can be seen painted on Russian military vehicles taking part in the invasion of Ukraine. The footage then cuts to an aerial view, reportedly showing the missiles exploding as they hit the ground. The video then shows missiles being fired at night before the footage ends.
