A company owned by rapper Rick Ross' family has been fined for labor violations at five of its Wingstop locations in Mississippi, the U.S. Department of Labor announced Thursday. Boss Wings Enterprises LLC made employees pay for their uniforms, safety trainings, background checks and cash register shortages, causing some employees' hourly wages to fall below the $7.25 federal minimum wage, the Labor Department said. The franchisee also violated child labor regulations when it allowed a 15-year-old to work past 10 p.m. in June 2021 several times, flouting standards prohibiting 14- and 15-year-olds from working past 7 p.m. from from June 1 to Labor Day, the department said. The Department of Labor recovered $51,674 in back wages for 244 workers and $62,753 in civil money penalties from Boss Wings Enterprises LLC. “Restaurant industry employees work hard, often for low wages, and many depend on every dollar earned to make ends meet,” said Wage and Hour Division District … [Read more...] about Rick Ross family company hit with over $100K in fines for violating child labor, other regulations at Wingstop locations

I just feel she should have waited for me to see her message or missed call instead of calling the switchboard in an effort to reach me." Cellphones At Work One user asked "Are you going to get in trouble at work for it? I guess it really depends what kind of work you do" to which the mother replied, "I won't get in to trouble. Dad refusing to “budge” as 5-year-old daughter demands a new pet praised
From food to attention to vet bills, a pet is a big commitment. So, it's not uncommon to find couples disagreeing on whether to add a furry friend to the family. One Mumsnet user took to the AIBU (Am I being unreasonable?) forum to ask if she should get a cat , despite the fact that her husband hates them. In her post on August 17, user Luckyforyou explained that their 5-year-old daughter really wants a cat, but their husband won't entertain the idea. "[Our daughter] talks about one every day," she wrote. "I am really open to the idea and think it will be a good companion. [Husband] hates them and will not budge. [Daughter] even asked if daddy could move out so we could get one." While dogs are America's most popular pet, cats are more divisive. A study by Budget Direct compared the number of #doglover and #catlover posts on Instagram and found that 38 states were "dog states" compared to 12 "cat states." In 2020, The List surveyed 47,000 people worldwide, with 60 … [Read more...] about Dad refusing to “budge” as 5-year-old daughter demands a new pet praised

Musk tweet joking about buying Manchester United causes stir
LONDON (AP) — Elon Musk caused a stir by tweeting that he was buying the English soccer team Manchester United — whose current owners are opposed by many fans — then saying several hours later that it was a joke. It comes as the billionaire Tesla CEO faces a legal battle in the U.S. after backing out of a deal to buy Twitter for $44 billion. He is a prolific user of the platform, often musing about social issues or joking with his 103 million followers and occasionally getting into trouble with U.S. regulators. Early Wednesday, Musk sent a tweet about his political affiliations and then added in a second tweet: “Also, I’m buying Manchester United ur welcome.” That came as shocking news in the Manchester United world — albeit welcome to many — after nearly a decade of sub-par performances. Asked by a follower whether he was serious, Musk later tweeted, “No, this is a long-running joke on Twitter. I’m not buying any sports teams.” It wasn't Musk's first joke about buying a … [Read more...] about Musk tweet joking about buying Manchester United causes stir
