The world-famous tennis tournament, Wimbledon, takes place between June and July. Past winners include Venus and Serena Williams , Billie Jean King, Maria Sharapova, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer. This year's games are taking place from June 20 through July 10, 2022. From the Duchess of Cambridge to Kendall Jenner, many members of the Royal Family and other famous faces take the opportunity to show off their summer styles at the famous tennis match. Met Gala 2022, the hottest party on the fashion (and celebrity) calendar has taken place at the iconic Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art. This year's theme was "In America: An Anthology of Fashion" and the dress code was Gilded Glamour, coinciding with the museum's current exhibition showcasing American fashion through the ages. As per usual, the stars did not disappoint, even if they did not follow the dress code. From Kim Kardashian wearing Marilyn Monroe's famous 1962 dress that she wore to sing "Happy Birthday" for then-President John F. Kennedy, to Blake Lively's double dress reveal fit for a princess, there is a lot to unpack from last night's (Monday, May 2) extravaganza. Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are set to welcome their first baby together. Alia announced her pregnancy with a cute post on social media. Ranbir and Alia tied the knot in April this year after dating for five years. Alia took to Instagram to announce the arrival of their baby. “Our baby… coming soon,” Alia wrote alongside a picture that shows her lying in a hospital bed and Ranbir sitting next to her. MILAN — Italy’s Leonardo Del Vecchio, who rose from childhood poverty to build the eyewear empire that owns brands such as Ray-Ban and Oakley, has died at the age of 87, his company said on Monday. Del Vecchio added a dash of Italian style to spectacles and became one of Europe’s wealthiest men, investing some of his riches to build influential stakes in Italian financial companies Mediobanca and Generali. The billionaire founded the Luxottica business in 1961, initially to supply components for glasses, and remained the chairman and major shareholder in the world’s biggest eyewear group after it combined forces with France’s Essilor in 2018. Electric eels can emit up to 600 volts of electricity to kill fish and crustaceans, or cause a nasty jolt to a bigger beast—a person, say. But if faced with a particularly large or recalcitrant fish, they have a special trick: They can bend their bodies and deliver a sort of electric sleeper hold on the unlucky prey. Kenneth Catania , a neurobiologist who studies animal sensory systems at Vanderbilt University, noticed that when attacking certain larger prey, electric eels sandwiched the animal between their heads and tails. He decided to figure out what exactly was going on. As detailed in a study published today in the journal Current Biology , Catania discovered that this maneuver allows the predator to more than double the strength of the electric field applied to the prey. The family of Barry George, wrongly convicted of Jill Dando’s murder , say they have no faith the Met Police will probe bombshell claims she was killed in a case of mistaken identity. Mr George’s sister, Michelle Diskin Bates, said she always thought police knew her freed brother, now 62, was not guilty of killing the Crimewatch host. Now documents submitted to a Paris court suggest Jill may have been killed in error in 1999 by a Russian hitman who meant to target another BBC journalist.
