The 53-year-old Grant, who is not close to Markle, was reportedly hospitalized with a broken ankle and a fractured knee. Grant's boyfriend gave an interview to TMZ about the crash. According to him, the pair were driving near a toll booth when a photographer swerved in front of them in an attempt to take their picture. Grant and her boyfriend veered left in hopes of avoiding the approaching car, but hit a concrete barrier, according to the report. It was suggested in the story that a scam had taken place in the procurement of light-emitting diode (LED) lights by Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) under the Rs 470-crore Smart Street Lighting project aimed at saving electricity and meant to be more economical. While the first PIL was instituted after the court took suo motu cognizance of the news item, the other was filed by Advocate Abhigyan Bharate.
