California politics are hella NorCal. Will voters shake that up this year?

· October 28, 2018 ·

By Laurel Rosenhall, CALmatters | PUBLISHED: October 28, 2018 at 7:00 am | UPDATED: October 28, 2018 at 7:00 am California is politically lopsided: Most of the people live in the south, but most of the political power is based in the north. A recent motion to dismiss filed by the defendants in the In re Petrobras Securities Litigation, No. 14-cv-9662 (S.D.N.Y.) consolidated litigation challenges the standing of several institutional opt-out plaintiffs.  Defendants’ arguments on standing, if accepted, could have a far reaching impact on an investment advisor’s standing to sue on behalf of funds it advises. As background, Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. · September 20, 2018 ·

POLITICS 09/20/2018 05:27 am ET The president was called a "complete narcissist" for what he said to survivors of Hurricane Florence. By Ed Mazza President Donald Trump made a number of eyebrow-raising comments on Wednesday as he visited North Carolina to survey the damage left behind by Hurricane Florence and meet with survivors. But critics say his tone-deaf comments brought anything but comfort.  At one point, Trump told storm victims to “have a good time” as they arrived for meals and supplies. At another, he spoke with a homeowner who said the insurance company didn’t want to pay for the damage after a boat ― not his ― washed up and crashed against his deck.  “At least you got a nice boat out of the deal,” said Trump.  Critics took to Twitter to slam the president for his “horrible and inappropriate” responses:  This comment has gone right past our general Southern response of "Bless … [Read more...] about ‘What Is Wrong With You?’: Trump Slammed For Tone-Deaf Comments To Storm Survivors
