WASHINGTON - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on June 12th announced that Ford Motor Company (Ford) is revising the fuel economy (mpg) estimates for six vehicle models to correct errors found in an internal Ford audit. Ford is required to correct fuel economy labels on affected vehicles within 15 days.EPA oversaw Ford’s re-testing program and conducted independent tests to confirm the corrected results as soon as it was notified by Ford of the potential errors. Julie Swetnick, the third woman to accuse Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct, was once represented by the law firm run by the attorney representing Christine Blasey Ford, The Wall Street Journal reports. Ford testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee about her accusation on Thursday. Swetnick, who is currently being represented by attorney Michael Avenatti, claims to have witnessed Kavanaugh “engage in highly inappropriate conduct,” including grabbing women “without their consent,” at parties in the early 1980’s. According to the Journal, Katz, Marshall & Banks, LLP, which was co-founded by Ford’s lawyer Debra S. Katz, represented Swetnick in a sexual-harassment complaint that she filed against her former employer, New York Life Insurance Co., which was ultimately settled.
