The list of parties standing in the European Parliamentary Election in the North East electoral region has now been published. French nationalist leader Marine Le Pen is hoping she and Italian deputy prime minister Matteo Salvini can form a new supergroup of MEPs after European Parliamentary elections in May. Irish Taoiseach Leo Varadkar threw the spotlight on yet more technical difficulties resulting from the Brexit chaos enveloping the continent.
