Post Legislative Review Mechanisms – Whether A Need Or Necessity In The Current Digital Revolution Age

· February 25, 2018 ·

Digital Revolution is in vogue and is here to stay. Many people have yet to realize just how rapid and profound the current digital revolution is, or how quickly it’s breaking down old institutions and changing the way of life. Virtually no part of our daily life has remained uninfluenced by these sweeping changes. Be it the way we communicate, the way we buy and sell, the way we do our banking, the way we commute, the way we dine – every minute aspect of our current day life, wherever we may be, is being overwhelmed by these technological advances. Therefore when things are changing so fast and so frequently, the legislative process must also factor in the times we live in. Consequentially, establishing appropriate mechanisms for “Post Legislative Review” has graduated to become a necessity rather than a choice. Various jurisdictions right at the onset of this Digital Revolution had understood the need of the hour to cope with the impact and had adopted timely … [Read more...] about Post Legislative Review Mechanisms – Whether A Need Or Necessity In The Current Digital Revolution Age

White House Legislative Affairs Director: Washington Post ‘Biased’

· April 5, 2018 ·

President Donald Trump’s criticism of The Washington Post is because The Post is biased, White House legislative affairs director Marc Short said Thursday. "I think The Washington Post certainly has an agenda, and they’ve been pretty biased in pursuing that agenda for quite some time, so I think he’s making a very obvious case that he’s not going to get a fair deal from The Washington Post in coverage," Short said in an interview with Stuart Varney on Fox Business. Trump slammed The Post in a tweet Thursday, calling a headline "phony" and "typically bad reporting." The president has taken multiple swings at The Post, which is owned by Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, which also has been a target of Trump’s. The president is bashing Amazon because he dislikes The Post, said Jill Abramson, the former New York Times executive editor. … [Read more...] about White House Legislative Affairs Director: Washington Post ‘Biased’

Trump: ‘Garbage’ Post Report on Gen. Kelly ‘Another Hit Job’

· April 8, 2018 ·

President Donald Trump, counter-punching since the day he declared his White House candidacy, struck back at the "fiction" of The Washington Post, which he ridiculed as "garbage" for "just another hit job" in a report on White House chief of staff John Kelly. The Washington Post is far more fiction than fact. Story after story is made up garbage - more like a poorly written novel than good reporting. Always quoting sources (not names), many of which don’t exist. Story on John Kelly isn’t true, just another hit job! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 8, 2018 The Post report chronicled a fracturing relationship between President Trump and Gen. Kelly, who was supposed to bring order to the White House "chaos" of last summer. Instead, the Post reported, Gen. Kelly has been "berated" by the President and threatened to resign, saying "I'm out of here, guys," according to the report. President Trump has also seen myriad reports of him privately considering moving … [Read more...] about Trump: ‘Garbage’ Post Report on Gen. Kelly ‘Another Hit Job’

White House Trade Adviser: The Washington Post Is ‘Fake News Most Of The Time’

· April 8, 2018 ·

POLITICS 04/08/2018 12:27 pm ET Peter Navarro echoed Trump's tweet claiming that the major newspaper is "more fiction than fact." By Laura Bassett White House trade adviser Peter Navarro escalated President Donald Trump’s attacks on the news media Sunday morning, characterizing The Washington Post as “fake news most of the time.”  Speaking with host Chuck Todd on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Navarro brushed off a Washington Post post story from Saturday that described turmoil in the White House. He specifically denied the newspaper’s report that White House chief of staff John Kelly is threatening to resign.  “Every day of his adult life,” Navarro said, “John Kelly’s gotten up in the morning to serve America. He’s a great man, a courageous man –– he serves the president, he has the president’s ear, he runs the West Wing well. That’s all I know, that’s all I … [Read more...] about White House Trade Adviser: The Washington Post Is ‘Fake News Most Of The Time’

John Hickenlooper talks to Rolling Stone about marijuana, the 2020 presidential race and the future of The Denver Post

· April 9, 2018 ·

WASHINGTON — Gov. John Hickenlooper spoke to Rolling Stone for a piece the magazine posted Monday as part of a four-day, cross-country tour and the two-term Democrat used the conversation to defend Colorado’s decision to legalize marijuana while addressing other issues such as immigration and the fate of The Denver Post. The Rolling Stone interview also touched on the possibility of a 2020 run for the White House but — as he’s done previously – Hickenlooper shot down the idea of a third-way ticket with Republican Gov. John Kasich of Ohio. “I don’t think we would ever run together just because, as he says, ‘Hickenlooper would never be my VP and I would never be his VP.’ That’s always a problem,” Hickenlooper said in a Q&A published by the magazine. On marijuana, Hickenlooper acknowledged some of his initial skepticism but said the worst of his fears haven’t come to pass. “Certainly the worst things that we … [Read more...] about John Hickenlooper talks to Rolling Stone about marijuana, the 2020 presidential race and the future of The Denver Post
