Polestar is giving the public a glimpse of its future by showing off a development prototype of the Polestar 5 at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed this week. The all-electric grand touring sedan is the latest iteration of the Polestar Precept concept that was first unveiled in 2020. "Polestar 5 is shaping up to be a superb 4-door GT and a true Polestar at heart," Polestar UK head of R&D Pete Allen said in a press release. "The platform combines low-volume performance car attributes with modern technological advances to bring light-weight, high-rigidity sports car chassis technology into mass production." It features a lightweight aluminum chassis, with the styling of a grand touring car. Eschewing the boxy design of the Polestar 2 sedan, the 5 opts for a more rounded approach, with boomerang headlights and thin tail lights at the edges of the car. Modern sanitation vehicles for municipal bodies across State
The Telangana Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department (MA& UD) has directed the Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) to ensure that the proposed purchase of modern sanitation machines, including sewage cleaning ones, is completed and are ready for use by the Independence Day of August 15 this year to put a full stop to the manual scavenging or cleaning of drains across the State. Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration N. Satyanrayana in a recent communication to the municipal commissioners concerned pointed out that MA & UD Minister K.T. Rama Rao had instructed that suitable measures be taken to prevent manual cleaning of the sewers and open drains in any of the urban areas through use of modern machines. Industries and IT Minister K.T.Rama Rao met Foxconn Chairman Young Liu in New Delhi on Thursday and showcased the State, especially the policy initiatives for investors. Taiwan-based Hon Hai Technology Group, which is behind Foxconn, is one of the leading electronics manufacturing services (EMS) providers globally and largest suppliers for many top tier international customers. Foxconn has manufacturing units in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. A release from the Minister’s office said Mr.Rao and Mr.Liu discussed Foxconn’s plans of expanding footprint in India. KUALA LUMPUR: Consumer electrical and electronics retailer Senheng New Retail Bhd is set to spend RM74.3 million on capital expenditure (CAPEX) for 2022. Executive chairman Lim Kim Heng said RM49.0 million of the CAPEX will be used to launch 21 new or upgraded stores this year while the remaining RM25.3 million had been utilised to acquire 1.17 hectares of land in Bandar Bukit Raja, Selangor, in May 2022, to support future expansion and upgrading of its warehousing and distribution network. Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) officials booked six motorcyclists for illegal alteration of vehicles as part of Operation Race, a State-wide campaign for tightening enforcement against speeding motorists and illegal alteration of vehicles, which got under way on Wednesday. The Ernakulam Regional Transport Office (Enforcement) under Regional Transport Officer G. Ananthakrishnan had deployed three squads for the campaign in the district.
