CLAIM: President Joe Biden claimed the “Inflation Reduction Act,” signed into law on Tuesday, gives tax credits to American consumers for electric vehicles “if those vehicles were made in America.” VERDICT: False. The Inflation Reduction Act does provide tax credits for electric vehicles made in America — but also for those made in Mexico and Canada as well. As Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act, he gave remarks on the legislation that is set to spend nearly $740 billion, mostly on green energy projects. In those remarks, Biden suggested that the provision for electric vehicle tax credits is only for vehicles made in the United States. “[The Inflation Reduction Act] … gives consumers a tax credit to buy electric vehicles … new or used, and it gives them a tax credit of up to $7,500 if those vehicles were made in America,” Biden said. “American auto companies, along with American labor, are committing their treasure and their talent, billions of dollars to make electric … [Read more...] about Fact Check: Joe Biden Falsely Claims ‘Inflation Reduction Act’ Does Not Subsidize Foreign-Made Electric Cars

Dodge revives Hornet name for electrified crossover ‘muscle car’
Dodge is dipping back into the electrification waters with its new hybrid, the second the company has produced (the first was the 2009 Durango). The addition to the "Brotherhood of Muscle" lands in the hot compact crossover segment using another classic name: Dodge Hornet. The 2023 Dodge Hornet uses the same platform as the also-Stellantis-owned Alfa Romeo Tonale, but with a ton of Dodge DNA injected from looks to powertrain. It won't sport the company's traditional crosshair grille like the decade-old concept of the same name. The Hornet name started with the Hudson Hornet in the 1940s. When Hudson was swallowed by American Motor Corporation it became the compact AMC Hornet. AMC was then folded into by Chrysler, giving the company, now owned by Stellantis, access to the nameplate. "This is the hottest segment in the industry. This is a million-unit segment, and in the next five years it is going to grow almost 50 percent," Tim Kuniskis, Dodge CEO said at an event at the … [Read more...] about Dodge revives Hornet name for electrified crossover ‘muscle car’

BERLIN (AP) – Police in Germany said Tuesday that one person has died and nine were seriously injured after a self-driving test car veered into oncoming traffic, triggering a series of collisions involving four vehicles Monday afternoon. Average New Car Prices In July Over $48,000
"We are here to help you make a good, smart car buying decision. If you're thinking about doing something, there is a lot going on in the auto industry with the shortages of new cars and some vehicles are still very hard to come by and they're bringing premium money as you might suspect. But if you've got a trade-in, trade-in values are still very high, however, I am seeing movement downward in pricing at the auction, I've seen it now for three weeks in a row... so if you're on the fence and you've got a trade-in, I would consider doing something now." - Jerry Reynolds, host of the CarPro Show Listen to Saturday's CarPro Show Podcast If you were hoping new vehicle prices would dip in July, they did just the opposite, topping June's record, according to Kelley Blue Book data. KBB reports that the average price paid for a new vehicle in the U.S. last month increased to $48,182. Leonardo DiCaprio preaches environmental responsibility, but does he practice it?
NEW You can now listen to Fox News articles! Leonardo DiCaprio used his Oscar acceptance speech on Sunday to deliver a message about the perils of global warming. But the A-list actor, who flies private jets, rents out entire yachts, and maintains multiple multimillion dollar residences, has a carbon footprint that’s likely among the biggest in the world. “Making ‘The Revenant’ was about man's relationship to the natural world. A world that we collectively felt in 2015 as the hottest year in recorded history,” DiCaprio said at the Academy Awards. “Our production needed to move to the southern tip of this planet just to be able to find snow. Climate change is real, it is happening right now. It is the most urgent threat facing our entire species, and we need to work collectively together and stop procrastinating.” But experts point out that a big part of reducing one’s carbon footprint is to stop buying so many expensive, energy-consuming toys. “Carbon footprints … [Read more...] about Leonardo DiCaprio preaches environmental responsibility, but does he practice it?

Elon Musk Continues to Sleep Under Desk at Tesla – Despite Fans Buying Him a Couch | Breitbart
Tesla CEO Elon Musk reportedly has continued to sleep under his desk at the Tesla factory in Fremont, California, despite fans buying him a fold-out couch via a crowdfunding drive. Tesla recently claimed that they had their “most productive quarter” ever, producing 5,000 Model 3 cars in the last week of the quarter by creating a makeshift assembly line in a tent outside their California factory and allegedly failing to perform brake tests on a number of their vehicles. Earlier this year, Tesla CEO Elon Musk claimed that he had been sleeping under a desk in a conference room during “production hell” to reach the company’s production goals. When popular YouTuber and Tesla fan Ben Sullins heard this, he came up with an idea to grab Musk’s attention — a crowdfunded pull-out couch for Musk to keep in his office. “The idea was that he should have a decent place to sleep when he’s pulling all-nighters,” Sullins told CNBC. In less than a week, Sullins idea had raised over $9,000 … [Read more...] about Elon Musk Continues to Sleep Under Desk at Tesla – Despite Fans Buying Him a Couch | Breitbart
