Eric Trump saw potential violence from election as “fair game”: Filmmaker
Alex Holder, the British documentarian who had substantial access to former President Donald Trump 's family, said in an interview published on Monday that Eric Trump was unconcerned about violence that could arise from his family's fraudulent claims about the 2020 presidential election. Holder was granted access to Trump's family and inner circle in September 2020 during the lead-up to the election, and footage he filmed was subpoenaed by the House select committee investigating the January 6, 2021, Capitol riots. He complied with the subpoena and turned over content that reportedly includes interviews with Trump and his children Ivanka, Eric and Donald Jr., as well as Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner and former Vice President Mike Pence . Speaking to The Independent, Holder alleged that Eric Trump did not appear to be concerned about any acts of violence that could have been caused by his father's claims that the election was stolen. Five reasons Tories should be worried about damaging by-election results
There is not enough paint on the shelves of B&Q to gloss over how bad last night’s by-elections were for the Tories. Voters in Wakefield and Tiverton & Honiton may not have much in common but they both agreed it was time to send their Tory MP packing. In a night of high drama, Labour won back the Red Wall seat of Wakefield and the Liberal Democrats overturned a 24,000 Tory majority in Tiverton and Honiton. The disastrous results will pile pressure on Boris Johnson , who has been trying to restore his battered premiership after he clung on in a no confidence vote earlier this month. No sitting Prime Minister has lost two by-elections in a single day since Tory John Major in 1991 and there are five reasons why Tory MPs should be worried: 1: Boris unboxed Boris Johnson is still digesting a grim night while his rivals are left smiling ( Image: PA) Boris Johnson has gone from being the Tories's greatest asset to ballot box poison. Boris Johnson’s Rwanda showdown with Charles – as by-election danger mounts back home
Boris Johnson faces showdown talks with Prince Charles after his plan to deport asylum seekers to Rwanda sparked outrage. The pair are due to meet at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in the capital Kigali - where the Prime Minister’s jet touches down tomorrow to kick off an eight-day diplomatic whirlwind. The summit is a few miles from the hostel where asylum seekers were due to be forced from Britain under a £120m deal. Yet the shamed Prime Minister has no plan to visit the site, after the first removal flight was grounded by the European Court of Human Rights. It will be the first time the pair have met since explosive reports the Prince of Wales branded the policy “appalling”. Clarence House has not confirmed or denied the private comments, which also include that the heir was “more than disappointed”. Government sources expect the pair to have a one-on-one "side conversation" at the margins of the summit, their first since June 3. "They are due to … [Read more...] about Boris Johnson’s Rwanda showdown with Charles – as by-election danger mounts back home

Goaltender Roberto Luongo, Finnish women’s star Riikka Sallinen and builder Herb Carnegie were also selected Monday for induction in November. “It’s nothing you think about when you play the game of hockey,” Henrik Sedin said. “But for us, we put our head down and put our work in every day. We get the most out of our talent. That’s what we’re most proud of today.” The Sedins and Luongo are being inducted in their first year of eligibility. Ruling party confirms election landslide victory
THE National Election Committee issued official results from this month’s local polls to confirm a landslide victory by Prime Minister Hun Sen’s ruling party. The results showed the Cambodian People’s Party receiving 74.3% of the votes, and the opposition Candlelight Party about 22.3%. It meant that the CPP won 1,648 of the country’s 1,652 commune chief positions, and the Candlelight Party the remaining four. The CPP has held an iron grip on power for decades, and has the huge advantage of controlling almost every level of government. Its opponents are less organised, with fewer resources and fearful of intimidation. Hun Sen, an authoritarian ruler in a nominally democratic state, has held power for 37 years. He has said he intends to stay in office until 2028, and has endorsed one of his sons to succeed him. The commune elections, held a year ahead of the general election, are regarded as a test of parties’ strength. The election committee said 80.19% of 9.2 million … [Read more...] about Ruling party confirms election landslide victory
David Valadao Advances to General Election After Impeachment Vote
David Valadao on Monday advanced to the general election in California’s 22nd District against Democrat Rudy Salas, according to the Associated Press. Weeks after the election took place, tallied votes show Valadao won with 25 percent of the vote, while Republican challenger Chris Mathys won 23 percent. Both parties compete in the same primary election and the top two winners advance to the general election. Valadao, one of ten House Republicans who voted to impeach Donald Trump, survived the Republican primary after Donald Trump did not endorse anyone in the race. A source close to Donald Trump told Fox News that Trump stayed out of the race because Valadao never doubled down on his impeachment vote. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California, holds the gavel after announcing the passage of the second article of impeachment, obstruction of Congress, against President Donald Trump by the House of Representatives at the Capitol in Washington, Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2019. The Strange Tale of Tina Peters
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Just six weeks before the 2020 presidential election — game day for vote-counting bureaucrats — Tina Peters was so proud of her operation at the Mesa County clerk’s office that she invited a film crew in to show it off. There’s no chance of mishap here, she boasted. “The Russians can’t hack into and start casting votes for someone,” she said, as a few in the office chuckled. By May 2021, it was Ms. Peters, not the Russians, who had helped engineer an audacious breach of voting machines, according to an indictment charging her with seven felonies. Ms. Peters arranged to copy sensitive election software from county voting machines in an attempt to prove the 2020 presidential election was rigged, according to court records. Prosecutors said she committed identity theft and criminal impersonation, and violated the duties of her office in the process. Ms. Peters has pleaded not guilty. The strange tale of Tina Peters — a once-ordinary public servant … [Read more...] about The Strange Tale of Tina Peters
