KATIE Price has been slapped with an even more serious drink-drive charge as she appeared in court today after her £750,000 pink Range Rover crashed. The 40-year-old glamour model wore a blazer and shades as she headed into court today after allegedly being almost twice the legal limit while behind the wheel. Having already been charged with being over the limit while in charge of a vehicle, Bexley Magistrates' Court was told as her trial was due to begin on Monday that she also faces the more serious charge of drink-driving. She was arrested in the stationary car in the early hours of October 10 in Shooter's Hill, Greenwich, south-east London. KATIE Price looked serious this morning as she arrived at court to face her drink-drive trial. The 40-year-old glamour model will face court today after her pink Range Rover crashed into a bush and another car last year. Katie has denied crashing the car while twice over the legal limit, and insists she never had any intention of driving while intoxicated. She was pictured arriving at Bexleyheath Magistrates' Court this morning wearing a blazer with large sunglasses. But she seemed in good spirits over the weekend despite the impending trial, going horse riding. LOWERING the drink-drive limit does not reduce the number of car crashes, a new study has found after Scotland's law change failed. The Scottish government cut the legal blood alcohol limit for motorists from 80 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood to 50 in December 2014. It argued the change would help save lives and make the country's roads safer. But experts at Glasgow University's Institute of Health and Wellbeing said the "unequivocal" results of their research proved the change has had no effect on road traffic accidents (RTAs). The research compared police data on crashes in Scotland with England and Wales - where the drink-drive limit has remained at 80 milligrammes of alcohol.
