Author J.D. Vance has confirmed he is seriously considering a run for the U.S. Senate in the state of Ohio come 2022 — news that should excite every “America First” voter. Vance is the author of the 2016 book titled “Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis” that some credit with explaining the political and cultural preconditions for former President Donald Trump’s ascent to the White House. He could also make a bid to fill the Senate seat being vacated by Ohio Republican Sen. Rob Portman. Although Vance has yet to formally throw his hat in the ring, he is already receiving quite a bit of support — even getting his own hashtag, “#JDforOhio.” Vance has said he seeks to be a “pro-family, pro-worker, pro-American nation” advocate and seems to have a gift for being both thoughtful and unapologetic. While Vance may have been slow to embrace Trump the man, he is a strong defender of the working-class values that defined the Trumpian movement and an “America … [Read more...] about ANALYSIS: Every ‘America First’ GOP Voter Should Be Watching This Potential Senate Candidate
JACKSON, Miss. — Like low-income pregnant women around the country, nearly every patient at the Sisters in Birth clinic here is covered by Medicaid, the public health insurance program for the poor. But the conversations have barely begun, and many … [Read more...] about In Mississippi, a Post-Roe Question: What Will Republicans Do to Help New Mothers?
Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson will serve an 11-game unpaid suspension, pay a $5 million fine and undergo professional evaluation and treatment as part of a settlement with the NFL following accusations of sexual misconduct by two dozen women. The league had sought to ban Watson for at least one year for violating its personal-conduct policy. He was accused of sexually harassing and coercing the women during massage therapy sessions while with the Houston Texans. Watson signed a $230 million fully guaranteed contract after being traded to the Browns in March. Because the team structured Watson’s deal so he’ll make $1.035 million in his first season, he’ll lose $632,500 in salary during the suspension. As part of the settlement, Watson can return for the Browns’ game in Houston on Dec. 4. “My whole life, I just have to be able to move forward and that’s the plan,” Watson said shortly after the settlement became public. The deal ends months of speculation and … [Read more...] about Browns’ Deshaun Watson suspended 11 games, fined $5 million

The museum’s CEO and co-founder, Jennifer Adams-Webb, said its lower Manhattan location was forced to close after suffering financial hardships exacerbated by the Covid-19 lockdowns, The Hill reported . Adams-Webb, also the CEO of the September 11th Families’ Association , said the museum suffered heavily during the pandemic when tourists and supporters couldn’t visit, according to the outlet. “Two-thirds of our income revenue annually comes from our earned income from admissions,” she told the New York Post. “We were completely closed for six months in 2020. We had been averaging 300,000 visitors a year … and last year we had a total of 26,000 visitors, so it completely annihilated our earned income.” On this #GivingTuesday , your support means more than ever.
