AN Only Fools and Horses fan has spent £4,000 transforming his canal boat into Del Boy and Rodney's infamous yellow three-wheeler van. Retired engineer Tony Vaughan, 61, was inspired by a pal at the pub last September after four pints of Guinness and got to work straight away. Tony has spent the last year converting the 53ft narrow-boat into a replica of the classic canary yellow Reliant Robin Del Boy and Rodney drove about Peckham doing dodgy deals in the 80s and 90s. He said: "It's an idea I came up with after a few pints of Guinness in my local pub one winter's night with a few friends. It seemed like a good idea at the time. "For something different. To give people a laugh and a smile." The fan from Greater Manchester claims it will take another year to finish it, so hopefully he'll be a millionaire by this time next year if he plans to pile thousands more into the boat conversion. He snapped up the vehicle shell for £200 (or a dounce in bunce as Del Boy would say) and … [Read more...] about Only Fools and Horses fan, 61, spends £4k transforming 53ft canal boat into Del Boy’s Robin Reliant van after few pints in the pub

AT last we’re finally getting to the nub of the Brexit issue. The thing which convinced an awful lot of British people to vote Leave two years ago. Immigration. A vexed issue. Complain about it and people will call you a racist. That’s a popular way of shutting down debate these days. Just screech “raaacisst” at someone. I’d go so far as to say it’s one of the reasons Leave won the referendum — because ordinary people were sick of being called racist when they simply worried about the millions of people who have arrived here in the past ten years. About seven million, in fact. An astonishing number. The Prime Minister is about to draw up her plans for immigration post-Brexit. She will be taking advice from the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC). It has suggested we allow in skilled workers who might be vital to our economy. It has also suggested we clamp down on low-skilled migrants. International Trade Secretary Liam Fox fails to back Theresa … [Read more...] about Why do lefties continue to ignore the mass exploitation of migrant workers?
A Brit dad who paid £24,500 for speeding in a rented Lamborghini has been forced to stay in Dubai after the car hire company demanded he cough up an extra £10,500. Farah Hashi, 25, racked up the eye-watering speeding ticket after borrowing a £270k Huracan supercar through friends while on holiday in the oil-rich Arab state. The Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 supercar Mr Hashi paid the hefty fine after reaching an agreement with police and the car rental agency, believing he could then return home to Newport, South Wales. But despite Mr Hashi settling his fine with police, Saeed Ali Rent a Car is now seeking compensation for the 16-day period the car sat outside Mr Hashi's hotel, the posh Five Palm Jumeirah. He was caught speeding 33 times in four hours at speeds of up to 150mph on Dubai's 347-mile-long Sheikh Zayed Road. "The British tourist cannot leave … [Read more...] about Brit tourist who racked up £36k fines in a hired Lamborghini told he can’t leave Dubai until he coughs up extra £10.5k

A CONTROVERSIAL website is letting angry drivers name and shame motorists for dodgy parking and bad driving. Enraged motorists blast everything from road rage to hard braking on rate-driver.co.uk, which is flooded with photos demonstrating dodgy road practice. The site even has a monthly top ten to show the worst offenders - headed with their number plates. More than 7,000 pages of pictures have been uploaded to the site, with dashcam footage playing a part in the rise of citizen surveillance. Motoring groups have had mixed reactions to the shaming site, with RAC spokesman Simon Williams questioning whether one mistake should lead to public shaming. He said: “While this website clearly has the potential to be misused through making unwarranted comments about law-abiding drivers, good drivers should have little to fear from being caught on another motorist’s dashcam. He added: “But it does seem wrong that one innocent mistake could lead to the driver in question being … [Read more...] about Controversial website lets angry drivers name and shame motorists for dodgy parking and bad driving
