Alan Dershowitz Rips Special Counsel Mueller as ‘a Partisan and Zealot’

· April 8, 2018 ·

Ripping FBI special counsel Robert Mueller as a political "zealot," Harvard law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz reminded staunch Mueller supporters about the former FBI director's role in protecting "notorious mass murderer" Whitey Bulger as an FBI informant. "I think Mueller is a zealot," Dershowitz told "The Cats Roundtable" on 970 AM-N.Y. ". . . I don't think he cares whether he hurts Democrats or Republicans, but he's a partisan and zealot. "He's the guy who kept four innocent people in prison for many years in order to protect the cover of Whitey Bulger as an FBI informer. Dershowitz: ‘We Need Less Redaction, More Transparency’

· July 22, 2018 ·

Ripping the redactions of the recently released FISA documents, civil liberties expert Alan Dershowitz denounced the "flawed" special counsel process that has rendered "more questions than answers." "We need to know more not less. We need less redaction, more transparency, and we have the right to judge for ourselves whether or system of justice is operating fairly, within the Constitution, and consistent with civil liberties. "Right now there are more questions than answers." The Justice Department released a heavily redacted 400-plus-page document Friday, detailing the justifications to seek a warrant to wiretap Carter Page, a U.S. citizen loosely attached to the Trump campaign. "Well, I'm used to seeing redacted information," Dershowitz … [Read more...] about Dershowitz: ‘We Need Less Redaction, More Transparency’

White House steps up attacks as Mueller report release nears

· April 9, 2019 ·

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump took a victory lap after special counsel Robert Mueller concluded his Russia investigation. It may have been premature. The scramble to frame the investigation's findings in the best political light is sure to be renewed in coming days when Mueller's report is expected to be released in redacted form. Now that the American public will get a look at details beyond the four-page investigation summary written by Attorney General William Barr, some Trump allies are concerned that the president was too quick to declare complete triumph and they're pushing the White House to launch a pre-emptive attack.Trump seems to be of the same mind."The Democrats will never be satisfied, no matter what they get, how much they get, or how many pages they get," Trump tweeted Monday, two days after he blasted "Bob Mueller's team of 13 Trump Haters & Angry Democrats." 33 PHOTOS Trump's tweets about the Mueller Russia probe See Gallery Trump's tweets … [Read more...] about White House steps up attacks as Mueller report release nears
