UFO hearing – live: Sightings are ‘frequent and continuing’, Navy tells Congress

May 17, 2022 by www.independent.co.uk

Related: US Defense Department release video of possible UFO in 2017 A House Intelligence subcommittee will today hold a hearing about unidentified flying objects and the possibility that we have encounted alien life. The hearing on “unidentified aerial phenomena” will be broadcast on the House Intelligence’s YouTube page at 9:00am ET (2:00pm GMT). Testimony is expected from many high-ranking intelligence and defence officials. It follows a report on UAPs last year which found that there were 144 encounters between 2004 and 2021. Although the report said that the evidence was “largely inconclusive”, it stated the most of the phenomena reported “do represent physical objects” and that the United States currently lack data to indicate any UAP are part of a foreign collection program or indicative of a major technological advancement by a potential adversary.” The proceedings will be chaired by Representative Andre Carson, who said that people needed to be … [Read more...] about UFO hearing – live: Sightings are ‘frequent and continuing’, Navy tells Congress

June 27, 2022 by www.thehindu.com

The Bombay High Court on Monday dismissed the plea by Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited of Adani challenging disqualification of its bid for upgrade of the container terminal in Navi Mumbai by the Board of Trustees of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA). A division bench of Chief Justice Dipankar Datta and Justice M.S. Karnik rejected the plea as non-meritorious and directed the companies to pay ₹5 lakh to JNPA. Since Adani Ports has already submitted Rs 4.25 lakh with the tender to JNPA, it will deposit the remaining ₹75, 000. The Bench also refused Adani Ports’s request to maintain status quo and not open bids till it sought relief before the Supreme Court. As per the plea the said bidding process consisted of two stages, the first stage was a global invitation of ‘Request for Qualification’ (RFQ) seeking application from interested parties. The second stage was where the applicants had to send their ‘Request for Proposal.’ Adani ports had contended that after … [Read more...] about Bombay HC dismisses Adani Ports plea challenging disqualification by JNPA

At the China border It is worrisome that China is upgrading its defence equipment on its border with India (Page 1, “China upgraded firepower on LAC”, June 27). That these developments in terms of a military infrastructure build-up have been going on ever since the stand-off between India and China confirms the point that China has been planning meticulously in terms of a permanency. One wonders where the talks that have been held so far on disengagement and de-escalation are heading if China is working to a plan. Though India has expanded its military capabilities and augmented its border defence infrastructure, it should be alert to face any eventualities. D. Sethuraman, Chennai If the report is true, it reveals the true intentions of Beijing. And if the shared interests of India and China are dominant in other spheres, it is not clear why no major headway has been made to de-escalate the situation on the border. Keeping the border issue alive will only lead to unintended … [Read more...] about Letters to the Editor — June 28, 2022

He has been summoned to be present before the central agency on June 27 in a case relating to the irregularities in the redevelopment of Patra Chawl project at Goregaon. The Member of Parliament tweeted, “I just came to know that the ED has summoned me. Good ! There are big political developments in Maharashtra. We, Balasaheb’s Shivsainiks are fighting a big battle. Young Arrows Cadets Aim for to Make It Big ahead of Debut Indian Super League Campaign

November 4, 2020 by www.news18.com

The upcoming edition of the Indian Super League (ISL) is set to feature a number of graduates from the latest batch of the All India Football Federation (AIFF)’s developmental side Indian Arrows and with the competition set to kick off in Goa on November 20, the young guns are hard at work as they prepare to take their ISL bows. Among them is the rapidly-rising forward Vikram Partap Singh, who has 27 appearances for the Indian Arrows in the I-League to his name along with five goals, four of which came in the 2019-20 season. Having signed for Mumbai City FC in the ISL, the 18-year-old feels that the goals his performances for the Arrows last season have given him “belief in his abilities” ahead of the daunting challenge ahead. Vikram, who also led the Indian side to the last eight of the AFC U-16 Championship 2018, said: “The preparation for the new season is going on full swing. I do feel a little pressure but at the same time, there is a lot of excitement as well. Scoring goals … [Read more...] about Young Arrows Cadets Aim for to Make It Big ahead of Debut Indian Super League Campaign

Maharashtra politics Maharashtra is witnessing the usual game politicians play — that of large-scale defections, which is an offshoot of personal ambition, which disrespects and tears to shreds the will of the people that is so sacrosanct in a democracy (Page 1, “Ban orders in Mumbai as MLAs’ offices attacked”, June 26). And, it is now spilling on to the streets. Whatever might be the reason for the crisis, the verdict of the people which handed over governance to the MVA Alliance must be respected and honoured. If the drama is a manifestation of the “national party” taking revenge on the Sena, its once all-weather ally, for deserting the Hindutva bandwagon, the writing on the wall for India’s future is clear: it looks rather bleak, as an unbridled ideology has only meant communal unrest and giant retrograde steps for India, nationally and internationally. One hopes that the crisis in Maharashtra is doused soon by well-meaning politicians — if there is anyone who still exists in that … [Read more...] about Letters to the Editor — June 27, 2022
