A man is dead and his wife is under arrest Saturday after she told police she shot him because he was beating the family cat, Dallas police reported. The shooting occurred around 6:45 a.m. in the 13000 block of Fall Manor Drive in Far Northeast Dallas, police said.The victim, who has not been identified, was taken to a hospital, where he died. DALLAS — Dallas police say a woman shot a man in the head who was trying to steal her sport utility vehicle with her two children inside. Police say the suspect got into the women’s vehicle late Wednesday night in a gas station parking lot. The woman then jumped in the vehicle and told the suspect to stop. When he did not, the woman pulled a gun from her glove box and shot the man once in the head. The vehicle then crashed into a telephone pole, according to police. The suspect was taken to a hospital and is in serious but stable condition. L'Daijohnique Lee was going the wrong way down a one-way street in Deep Ellum on March 21. She was dropping off a friend, she said. Austin Shuffield, 30, was trying to leave a parking lot. He tried to take a picture of her license plate. Lee, 24, threatened to mace him if he didn't back away, WFAA reported, citing a police affidavit. A bystander video captured what happened next.
