Brandi Buchman, a leftist who self-identifies as a “senior staff writer” for leftist blog Daily Kos “covering Jan. 6 probe,” has been caught spreading disinformation about the January 6 investigation, Breitbart News has learned. In a May 5 tweet, Buchman falsely claimed that two advisers to former President Donald Trump’s eldest son Donald Trump Jr. were involved in planning the rally that preceded the breach of the United States Capitol back on January 6, 2021. Regarding Andy Surabian and Arthur Schwartz, the Trump Jr. advisers, Buchman said in her tweet specifically that “both” of them “were involved with rally planning.” Interested to see how this meeting pans out for Trump Jr and if his testimony corroborated other details, including information that came under force of subpoena from Trump Jr's advisers Andy Surabian and Arthur Schwartz. Man has eaten Big Mac daily for 50 straight years: “Nothing I’d rather eat”
Donald Gorske has eaten a Big Mac nearly every day for 50 years straight—and he has no plans to stop. The McDonald's regular has been in the media spotlight for years, extending his own record as the years have passed. It culminated in an official celebration that took place Tuesday in his home state of Wisconsin. He has only missed eight days of Big Mac consumption in five decades, often eating two of the fast-food juggernaut's classic burgers during each visit. "I've only missed eight days in 50 years, which is phenomenal," Gorske told KFVS-12 from his hometown restaurant in Fond du Lac. "And like I say, I count every Big Mac. I've counted every Big Mac I've eaten my whole life." The Big Mac is composed of two beef patties sandwiched between a sesame seed bun. They are accompanied by pickles, shredded lettuce, finely chopped onion, American cheese and the chain's special sauce. The website Real Menu Prices lists Big Mac sandwich prices as $3.99 each, which means two … [Read more...] about Man has eaten Big Mac daily for 50 straight years: “Nothing I’d rather eat”
GPs to vote on changing opening hours to a daily 9am to 5pm to reduce ‘strain’
A move to ease the work burden on GPs by having a 9am to 5pm day is to be voted on by doctors with some claiming “urgent action is needed”. Avon Local Medical Committee (LMC) is to table a motion that would see two-and-half hours taken off GPs’ days with typical practices now running from 8am to 6.30pm. "Urgent action is needed to manage the imbalance between doctors' workload and their workforce," said the motion. The call for a 9am until 5pm job is part of a desire for “credible agreed workload measures”. The motion wants GP leaders to "further develop, publicise and strongly advocate worked-up plans to introduce safe workload limits for general practice that do not constitute a breach of contract." The motion has stated that GPs are under heavy strain ( Image: Getty Images) GPs are also concerned about the amount of abuse that they are having to deal with and they are set to debate calls for a change in GMS regulations to allow the immediate removal from … [Read more...] about GPs to vote on changing opening hours to a daily 9am to 5pm to reduce ‘strain’
Balenciaga and the uglier side of fashion: China Daily contributor
BEIJING (China Daily/Asia News Network): Balenciaga's new 'Paris' range of trainers were recently trending on Weibo, China's equivalent of Twitter, for their rugged look, tattered holes, scuffs and slits, and a huge price-tag - the costliest pair coming for no less than US$1,850. Many people commented online that they were relieved they could never afford these "anything but luxurious" shoes. Others were less sparing, a few even quipped that such shoes could easily be found in a trash can. One sure wonders if, through these unflattering pairs, the brand was ridiculing its most loyal customers - the rich - while paying a secret tribute to the poor. For years, fashion brands have made fun of customers for an assumed lack of taste in beauty and art, and most importantly the lack of money. Not long ago, people making less than 3 million yuan a year fell in fashion giant LVMH's blind spot as it excluded those earning the "non-income" from its scheme of things. It's all about … [Read more...] about Balenciaga and the uglier side of fashion: China Daily contributor
Tories ignore cost of living catastrophe as struggling Brits offered no help
Boris Johnson was accused of failing millions of struggling families with a lacklustre Queen’s Speech that offered them no extra help. The Prime Minister admitted his Government could not “completely shield” people from soaring prices and energy bills. But he sparked confusion by hinting Rishi Sunak was poised to announce more support within days – but was immediately slapped down by the Treasury. Labour leader Keir Starmer accused the PM of a “pathetic” response to the cost of living crisis that is set to get worse. He warned the UK was “staring down the barrel” of a stagflation crisis – rising inflation with slow growth – on a scale not seen since the 1970s. Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak with Labour Party deputy leader Angela Rayner ( Image: POOL/AFP via Getty Images) Mr Starmer blasted: “We have a Government whose time has passed, a Cabinet out of ideas and out of energy, led by a Prime Minister entirely out of touch.” Charities criticised … [Read more...] about Tories ignore cost of living catastrophe as struggling Brits offered no help
